Did this get removed? I used to be able to drag my finger around to control the camera but now I can't.

No, it should be still there, as you probably know hold finger on the screen and wait for the blue ring to appear then slide finger around to desired position   

That feature has not been removed.
Enter Camera interface, press the screen for a few seconds until it hops on a blue circle  under your fingertip with another blue dot in the center.
If there is any problem, firstly, please check the App and the firmware version so that we can help to figure out the issue further.
