P3P  seems to use the entire 2.4Ghz Wifi spectrum , so not good when filming racing drones.  Does anyone know if there are settings that can be made on the drone  to reduce the number of channels.   Does everything still work when you do? I see "Channel Mode"  but not sure what it actually does as no matter what setting you change it to, it all seems to say ISM channels 13-20 so I assume this is 2.4Ghz ISM and seems to kill every WIFI channel 1 - 14  ??  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels

In the GO App, if you select the HD icon, you will see the channels 13-20. The default AUTO setting allows the GO App to auto select what it thinks is the "best" channel and it can channel hop within these 8 channels. If you select CUSTOM, then you get to choose which channel the P3 uses and it will NOT channel hop. I've always flown in CUSTOM using channel 20 which seems to best the best channel with least interference in my area...

DJI Lightbridge uses radio channels which are within the ISM bands to transmit video back to the RC. The P3 has antennas in the vertical legs of the landing gear that communicate with the RC on 2.400 GHz - 2.483 GHz. DJI initially implemented 32 channels within this band but later discovered that only 8 channels (13 -> 20) were legally available. The other frequencies are in used by ham radio, satellite comm,  or are used by wireless carriers in various countries.  Those channels outside DJI 13 to 20 may not be legally usable. See this spreadsheet for specific channel usage:

Sploodge offered a hack to enable custom selection of the original 32 channels here: http://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=27147&fromuid=44480

OK thanks I will try and do the reverse and change it from 8 channels to a lower number and see if I can reduce the number of channels it uses.

OK thanks it still shows 8 channels when I go into custom no matter what setting I choose from the drop down.  I don't have a spectrum analyzer to see what it is actually using.  I guess I need to do some research.

It is not a good idea to limit the aircraft to one channel, because if that channel is occupied by a stronger signal you will lose contact with your aircraft.
