I'm quite sure, somebody will correct if not, going on your Gps location it sets itself do you don't need to worry like older phantoms etc.

While you are located in Europe your drone will limit transmitting power according to European laws and regulation, but if you take your drone to a non-CE region it should use FCC mode.
Go complain to EU, DJI is just following the European laws..

And  if you fly an FCC version over Europe, the transmitter will limit the power because GPS position ?
That sounds a little weird.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Because there are two versions with two different specifications, I think, ( if anyone says otherwise and with reliable arguments ),
that the CE transmitter version has less power (Lets say in a basic definition ) than the FCC version, but because they come from the factory with these characteristics, and there are two different versions.

Yeah... there are obviously 2 version. I have BOTH the version.

CE and FCC.... Thats why I am asking. I passed my friend the FCC one.

Today flight test... CE went 1.6KM and a/c disconnected. But the FCC went 3.2km before that happened!

So... CE is crap really. Remember I am in Singapore.

That's what I think. Two different versions.
I think that you must recover the FCC version from your friend, and give him back the CE version.

If there is two versions, that would mean that everybody who travels to EU and brings their FCC version of the Phantom are breaking the law the second they power it on..

Lets hope someone of the DJI representatives can clear this up, because I still bet my money on that there is only one version and that output is regulated using GPS, or at least for Phantom 3 series since I read of Europeans who has gotten better range when traveling outside of EU with their Phantom.  Regarding the marking, it's just a sticker...

PPL get confused with the P3 here i think. But even the old P3 delivered mixed results in range, some CE models reached X km, some reached X km.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting DJI Technical Support.

Please note CE is for Europe, FCC is for America. Depending on where you are flying you can select the correct mode by turning the pot on the rear of the transmitter.
Thanks for choosing DJI.

Best regards,

vivi.liu

Now you can check the pot in the back side of your transmitter, and see if you can twist them in the same position, and  fly the same distance with both Phantoms, the CE version and the FCC version.
Let us know something about that

I received this answer from Dji:

Vivi Liu (DJI)

The information they gave you is for an OLD phantom that had a screw on the back of the RC that you could change from CE to FCC yourself.
Now they do not leave it up to the user, when powering up your Phantom3 or Phantom4 the GPS will determine to allow you to fly ing CE of FCC mode.
There is not two different versions, packaging may be different depending on the country.
