I don't think you'll find any country that has any law against setting the altitude limit to 500 metres.
And there are plenty of locations where you can fly further than 400 feet above your home point quite legally.
Not everyone lives and flies on pancake flat prairies.
Bang on, most require you to stay at or lower than 400' AGL (Above Ground Level), I always have mine set at 500M as I fly in the mountains a lot and while the ground is going up so am. I often find myself hitting the 500M limit but never above the ground by more than 100M and usually @~20M AGL. the 500M limit should be increased to 1000M IMHO as I often find myself in need of more.
Normally I would point you to the Phantom 4 PDF manual but it is painfully lacking in this department.
1.) Open the DJI GO App and connect to your Bird and RC,
2.) Click on General Settings (...) in the upper right hand corner,
3.) Click on Main Controller Setting (Top Icon),
4.) You will see "Set Maximum Flight Altitude" (3rd line from the bottom),
5.) Enter unto 500 in the field provided on the right.
If you need higher than this, I haven't tried this yet but the author of this video can explain more...I don't know if this still works on the latest rev of DJI GO.
Thanks guys. And yes I own one but I don't have the time to fly nor read instruction. But I'm bless to have the money to blow on something as cool as this. For those who helped me out thank you
Was going to purchase and this was in ad Without a permit, the legal range for a drone to fly is 500m horizontally and 122m vertically in the line of sight from the operator. The software will limit this drone to flying 120m above take off point to stay in line with regulations.
Yes. The 120 is the default from DJI. You can change the altitude to 500 meters The range can be set further as well. Tomstechtime.com has a very nice tutorial on setting up the P4 Go Program.
