Quick question...I go to fly and I calibrate the compass at the location.  It says the home point has been set, and when I start the take off and fly, the icon for the aircraft stays at the homepoint while I am flying it.  The map does not show my current location.  It eventually will work, but it takes a few restarts of the app, aircraft and RC.  Any suggestions?

Firstly, please say what aircraft you have and what phone/tablet you are using.

Are you flying in P or GPS mode, how many satelites does the application report?

Hmm, that should be OK. I use an Air 2 and a P3P with no issues at all. If the aircraft is seeing 14-17 satellites it should be OK too. From what you are saying, you are getting the map display, just the icon does not move.

Sounds like a re-installation of the Go App is warranted.

Home should NOT move with you as you go! Weird!
You can go into the "quad" menu, and select the point manually, before take off, listen if the app says "home point set"...  Make sure you set home to the aircraft icon and not a person icon at first.
I'd also suggest that you get a free healthydrones account, upload the logs, and look through the maps and other data.
Have you ever tried flying away 20 or more meters away in a field, and then invoking return home? Remember, you CAN control the aircraft once it reaching RTH altitude, or you can [press RTH button to cancel RTH function (or do it in the app).. Anyhow, you can regain control, if the aircraft would seem to go not where you expected..
Oh, also..  this is a stupid question, but I do not like to overlook the obvious... you did zoom in on your map? I know they sometimes like to just zoom out, and then it DOES look like your aircraft and home are at the same spot!

I will try that tomorrow.  Does the ipad need to be on a wifi while flying?

Hello Johnny, Actually you can switch off the iPad‘s’ WiFi during the flight.
