I'm going to return my galaxy tab s 8.4.  I REALLY want to try the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet but I'm concerned about its brightness.  I'm going to be using this 100% outdoors.  The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is plenty bright for outside use.  Best Buy does not offer the NVIDEO SHIELD Tablet in their retail stores so I would have to pay a restocking fee to return it.  I wished I could go some place to actually se the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet to see the brightness of the screen.

Same here, I've been using my good old galaxy SIII with no problems, except my old eyes can't see the small screen so good.

Video seems ok? I tried one and the video seemed a bit stuttered. Maybe just my simple in the house test while the ship was on the ground. I ended up using my nexus 9 but I'm thinking of trying a shield but if the Tab 4 is working I like the size/weight.

Side by side the Tab 4 did not match up to the iPAD (FYI).  I've been hearing rumblings about the brightness on the shield not being so great.  Only trying to share my experiences with you so not trying to persuade you in any way.  I'm just plain happy that IOS is finally approved and I can stick with it.

I ended up choosing the Dell Venue tablet. I tested the Nexus 9 and Galaxy S.. the Dell Venue performed substantially better. I also have heard like everyone else that the Nvidia Shield is the best way to go for Android. Altho I have a dual purpose for my tablet and the Shield wasn't cutting it.

Taking it out for flight in St George, Utah this weekend!

Again, I can only speak on my experience. I have not had any issues with my Tab4. No video issues, no app issues.

I have to agree on the Nvidia Shield ...I bought two 64 gig tablets and love it...It is a gamers tablet so it is high resolution and I have had zero problems with video streaming...I love the fact that I can record the pilot app screen and the camera operators screen real time while flying...The only drawbacks that it has is it consumes a lot of power because of its processing power, so you have to watch your battery levels closely...The other thing is that in sunlight the polarization on the screen makes it hard to see the pilot app so a Sun Screen is a must ...They also have excellent customer support...

Would anyone happen to know about an android LG G3 phone compatibility? Just bought a Phantom 3 and have not been able to connect the app with this device. It says "disconnected" at the top of the app. I've updated all the firmware and still no go.


Probably going to pick up a Galaxy tab4 7" at costco ...

I have both the Samsung Pro 8.4 and the Nvidia Shield. The Pro 8.4 does have bit lag but it works go ...

Hi Chris, is there a way to flip the little map in your right corner to reflect the "real" direction in which the copter is flying?  I think it is probably showing the North orientation.  Thank you.

I tried today to use my Samsung S3 *" tablet with my Mavic Controller. Everything is ok except cannot see camera view - just black where you would expect to see video. Anyone got any ideas? I have gone into developer mode and changed USB debugging to be on.
