Well, being slow motion is pretty much the point of 1080p120.

In an edit program like FCP or Premiere, you could of course speed it up so that it plays back regular speed, but if you are looking for a regular speed recording, you are much better off with 1080p60 or 1080p30.

Personally I think that there are a lot of issues with the quality of 1080p120, especially that it uses only part of the sensor (you will have noticed that the shot is much tighter than in any of the other settings).

I really only use it when I really want to record something in slow motion.

Aloha ethompson,

On top of the camera controls on the right side of the flight screen is the camera menu.  Open that up and you will be able to change the frames per second of your videos.  As nebelung noted, 1080 30 or 1080 60 are usually good frame per second rates.  Do be aware that 1080 60 is also slow motion.

Absolutely right. Just whitch to a lower fps in the camera settings and your video will be showed in a real time

Aloha joe,

Like DJI-Tim said, the lower frame rates display at normal speed with most players.  But, in post processing, you can slow down the action a little bit.  This can make PANs smoother if you need it.

I find this very confusing, as it is nowhere mentioned that 120fps is a slowmo and crop version. The technical details say 30, 60 or 120fps.

And 120fps is not essentially always slow-mo. It just means that one second of realtime is captured with 120 frames. It is true that this is better for retiming as you have more information to stretch. But that it *always* is slow-mo is not correct.

The 60fps setting is also not a slowmo options. That's realtime with 60frames. I would expect, from manual and technical description, that 120fps is realtime with 120 frames.

Is it anywhere mentioned by DJI that 120fps is slowmo?

Nils
