Reached that great site, got the bird up in the air JUST PERFECT....everything just PERFECT!!!

And later, when viewing the video (or not)....realized I forgot to start recording.    @#!&  #!&@$!!

I added that to my checklist, just before take off make sure camera on

I think everyone has done it at least once, and I'm sure many have done it several times.
Preflight checklist would help.

Yep, in my case I left the SD card on the bench at home, then travelled 150 kM for no rresult at all.

I have done it also,  though I didn't go as far as First Officer Geebax.  Only out to the back yard.  But now I keep a couple of extra sd card in the case I haul the Phantoms around in, that helps out with that problem.

Yes, you're not alone... especially early on when you're concentrating on flying and great camera angles... as for the SD card, well these days I keep a spare in the backpack.

Except I will need to put it on the monitor somewhere cause I hardly ever look down at the TX once airborne.

The reason I never forget the SD card.....is because I never remove it.

I've lost count of how many times I've spent ages getting the perfect shot only to realise I hadn't pressed record.  Now I just record from takeoff to landing constantly and cut the scenes in post.

I have never understood why the default mode is not made to record video while the drone's motors are running and to stop recording when the motors stop. Seriously, how hard would that be to implement and how many would opt to turn it off (I am sure there are a few)?

Part of the reason maybe because of the two second gap between files when you are continuos recording.  I didn't take that into account whilst flying tonight and think I'm going to have one of my shots spread across two files, complete with the two second gap
