I recently did a video of waterslide event at my wife's school. It was a bit challenging without a separate camera operator but once I lined it up and turned the camera, it was just a matter of decending while following the angle of the hill's slope. Not bad for my first try.

Great job!  Yeah, I can see how challenging that would be!

My only advice is for the bigger edit.  Next time don't stick with only one field of view.   Would have been much more exciting to have long shots from far above, shots from behind and so on.  Would have made a really nice edit.

But back to the praise, awesome job framing those up by yourself!

I am surprised the school allowed this without a lot of red tape!

What were your contingency plans in the event of a malfunction? Was this part of the risk assessment and site survey?
Did the school ask for increased PL insurance cover for the event?
Was it difficult getting releases from all the parents?

pretty cool idea, I have to do a similar shoot for an after school program tomorrow which should be interesting!!!

Thanks for the tips. Wasn't thinking on a bigger scale. Just capturing a few faces but will do it next time!

The drone belongs to the school for marketing purposes. At no time was I flying over anyone so no concerns there.
