Can I suggest for a  future software release that an AGC (Automatic gain Control)  or Limiter be available in the audio settings tab.I hate AGCs generally, but have tio admit that when the level in the OSMO gets too hot, the resulting sound is way MORE objectionable than an AGC. It must be switchable tho!  on or off.
Sometimes when shooting on the fly you just dont have chance to stop, dive into a menu, make an audio level adjustment etc, so it might just drag things back this side of the distortion line?

Any particular reason why...so far...this has not be adopted?  I mean we're talking about something that is common to nearly ALL modern DSLR's!  Is it beyond your engineers?

At this point, I'm assuming that DJI is not interested in doing any firmware updates like this otherwise they would have done it by now.

I look at it this way, I have a $600 (Osmo +) camera that shoots stunning 4K video and exceptable audio. I looked really hard at alternatives before buying it such as a mirrorless camera and a stand alone 3 axis gimble.
That option had its plus and minus as well, plus the cost was a lot more.

Yes, it would be nice if DJI got off their butt and corrected things like AGC, Focus Assist, Audio Monitoring, camera drift, etc., but until then, I'll work around the limitations and shoot the best video I can until I can afford to upgrade.
