Hey guys maybe you can shed some light on the subject for me.  I just got my P4 with intent on following racing with it.  I watched the DJI film on WRC and noticed they still had sound from the car and not the drone.  However it was filmed with the inspire and not the P4 but anyone known how they did that?  Was there a mic in the car on on the car and they synced it up in post producton?  I'M STUMPED.  PLEASE HELP.  

Yes, you would need to have an external microphone to record the sound.

I think they just dubbed the sound in post. Not real sound.

Probably stock audio added in post production, but I think using an external recorder is a better way to go.

Most, if not all serious filming uses a separate audio recorder from the camera.  They often have a sound crew separate from the cameraman.  Apart from anything else, it helps prevent picking up sounds from the camera itself.  I expect the same has been done here.

It's unlikely to be stock audio as it would be much more difficult & expensive to synchronise than if it was recorded at the scene by a sound crew.

Thank you guys.  I kinda figured it was from an external mic.  It was the only logical explanation but I needed expert verification
