The max alt. is 400 ft, what if I'm on top of a mountain or building higher than the max altitude and my P3P take off from there. Will it automatically descend to 400 ft and hover there? Or will it start calculating the altitude from the point of liftoff?
As above, altitude is calculated from the take off point. It doesn't know how high it is relative to the ground below. Max height is whatever you set it to up to 500m. The law in most (all?) countries is stated above ground level, so you need to work that out yourself if you want to comply.
