Anyone know if P4 works with ipad mini 1?

It wont.
Even if you do get the DJI Go app to load, its very laggy and has picture issues.
I have tried it with my Ipad 4th gen Retina and it seems ok until the camera/picture starts moving, then the Ipad cant cope and the green lines and freezing picture happens. The 4th gen ipad has the A6X processor, the Ipad mini has the A5.
Minimum spec is the Ipad mini 2, with its A7 processor.

Did you check the list of compatible devices  on DJI web site, if you had looked at the list you would know that the answer is no

I did, but I was hoping that it would work even though DJI does not recomend it.

No it's not powerful enough if you did make it connect to the P4 the lagg created would be terrible, the screen would also break up or glitch,

I was using IPad Air 1 and sometimes even that struggled the Air 2 is much better

Theoretically they are compatible but iPad Pro is too large for the original holder.

The 9.7" iPad Pro will fit in the original holder.
