It so happened that I haven't used the inspire 1 because despite its price, the package is missing such an important accessory as the car
I have installed the firmware 2015-05-06 (v1.2.01.03).
How to correctly update the inspire 1 to the current version?
I always update inspire from a memory card without connecting remotes during flashing. And the remotes, as I understand it from notes, update with flash drives more unavailable - only with the tablet, right?
Can I flash directly to the latest firmware 2016-04-07 (v1.8.1.00) and will it include all the updates for the year?
And how after that to update firmware on the handle for OSMO to use it in tandem with the camera from the inspire 1? (and the fact handle for OSMO is already two months after the purchase not used, due to the fact that inspire does not updated)

And how after that to flash the handle for OSMO to use it in tandem with the camera from the inspire 1?

From your firmware 1.2.1.03, there was a huge upgrade on 4 Aug 2015, v1.3.0.00. This firmware package is a major upgrade and should be applied first to your aircraft.
It is still an All-In-One package, so you will also use this package to upgrade your RC still using the SD card methodology.

After v1.3.0.00, DJI splits the RC firmware out into a seperate package that installed across the internet via the DJI GO App.
This firmware can be downloaded from the DJI download page: Click this link to go to the DJI Inspire Downloads page. or Click this link to download the v1.3.0.00 firmware.

This major firmware update added the following features:
  1. Added option to downgrade the aircraft firmware.
  2. Added HD Video Conversion option in the video editor.
  3. Added High Dynamic Range (HDR) shooting feature.
  4. Enabled use of remote controller to shoot photos in burst mode.
  5. Fixed issue of video files being damaged when aircraft is powered off during recording.
  6. Added DJI SDK API support for Inspire 1.
  7. Optimized transportation mode. Now allows entering transportation mode even when the gimbal is still attached to the aircraft.
Transportation mode is automatically triggered when the gimbal is detached from the aircraft.
Additionally, users can now immediately attach the gimbal after powering on the aircraft and exiting transportation mode.
  8. Added option to enable or disable the Vision Position System.
  9. Added option to allow aircraft to hover and land at the current altitude during failsafe.
  10. Added option to enable or disable Low Battery RTH feature.
  11. Flight controller parameters are now retained after firmware updates.
  12. Support storing customized gimbal parameters.
  13. Camera View now displays the DJI logo if a video output error is detected to avoid confusion with a blank screen.
  14. Motors stop spinning automatically if blocked by obstacles or excessive force.
  15. Support updating remote controller firmware though the DJI GO app.
  16. Optimized battery life algorithm.
  17. The battery will conserve extra power if it has not been through the initial battery level learning cycle.
  18. Optimized battery protection mechanism.

It Fixes:
  1. Fixed the issue of DJI GO app displays “Flight Controller Data Error” when the capacity of flight controller is full.
  2. Improved the stability of the flight controller.
  3. Improved the stability of the Vision Position System.
  4. Fixed the issue of failing to reset GPS coordinate on the mobile device.

Because it is a MAJOR upgrade apply it first to the aircraft with the RC turned off. Then install it on the RC using the USB port and SC Card methodology with the aircraft turned off. The following notes apply to v1.3.0.00:

  1. Flight controller parameters will be reset after the firmware is updated. However, the flight controller parameters will not be reset from this version of firmware onward.
  2. Manually toggle the Flight Mode Switch to enter the IOC.
  3. Upgrading the remote controller firmware though USB flash drive is no longer supported after this update. Users should only update their remote controller by using the DJI GO app.
Ater this update the RC firmware will no longer be included with the aircraft firmware.
It will be downloaded from the internet and staged by the DJI GO App and you will be guided by the GO App t download and install the RC firmware.
  4. Motors may beep and LEDs may flash during the update. This is normal as the motors will be updated following this update.
  5. The battery’s charge and discharge cycles may be affected by the update as a result of the new calculation method for the battery life.
The battery must be fully charged and then discharged to below 5% power to complete the calibration.
  6. Even after the Vision Position System is disabled, the landing gear will still automatically lower in order to protect the gimbal when flying at low altitudes.
If such action is not desired, turn off the Intelligent Landing Gear feature in the DJI GO app.
  7. Gimbal will produce beeping sound to indicate the parameters saved successfully.
  8. Aircraft firmware can only be downgraded to v1.2.106 or later. So to mitigate possible failure recovery, apply this firmware upgrade first and ensure it is successful.

After you successfully install v1.3.00, then you can update the aircraft directly to the v1.8.1.00. The aircraft is still upgraded using the SD Card in the camera. But the RC will upgrade via the GO App.

Things that you should be aware of before upgrading:
  1. After v1.3.0.00, the RC firmware version may differ from the aircraft version number. This is normal today to have different version numbers.
  2. v1.8.1.00 changed the encryption between the RC and the aircraft. Once the aircraft is upgraded to v1.8.0.00, it will no loner communicate with the RC until the RC is also upgraded to the the latest version of at least C1_FW_V01.06.0000.
  3. While you can upgrade directly from v1.3.0.00 to v1.8.1.00, the versions you missed in between are as follows, just in case:

      Firmware v1.3.0.00 Download
      Firmware v1.4.0.10 Download
      Firmware v1.5.0.30 Download
      Firmware v1.6.0.40 Download
      Firmware v1.7.0.90 Download
      Firmware v1.8.1.00 Download

   4. Firmwae changes from your old version to the newer version include battery updates, so plan to upgrade all of your batteries also.
   5. In a recent upgrade to the DJI GO App, DJI has added the ability to see the RC firmware upgrade and downgrade within the GO App. You must go to th Camera View and press on the Academy "Graduation Cap" icon in the upper right corner for at 10 seconds. This will show the RC firmware and with internet connectivity you can upgrade or downgrade RC firmware.

terrylewis, Thanks for the detailed response, but I still have a few questions.
If I understand correctly, first upgrade my inspire 1, all the batteries (I have 4) and RC to version 1.3 the old-fashioned way.
And then, all at once, you can update to version 1.8, with the only difference that the RC upgrade through the app and not with the USB.
While all the improvements added in the range from 1.3 to 1.8 will be added when you install 1.8.

And after the installation of firmware version 1.8 on copter, all batteries and remote - I can use the X3 suspension on the handle OSMO? And what about the upgrade OSMO handle? After the installation of the X3 gimbal on the handle OSMO, to throw the latest firmware for OSMO in the X3 gimbal, and also to perform the upgrade?

The question is, said about battery calibration:
"5. The battery’s charge and discharge cycles may be affected by the update as a result of the new calculation method for the battery life. "

How simple and relatively quick discharge the batteries, but to do not raise the inspire 1 in the air? Well, you can drive on idle speed the propellers, you can workout in the simulator - other options?
And how then to store them? Leave discharged on 5% ? Or charge fully, and again discharged, but many need to defuse, for long-term storage, and then we say that if you keep charged battery will deteriorate.
What percentage of the charge to properly store batteries for a long period?

Battery Discharge:
Here's what the manual now says:

Battery Calibration

Battery Calibration

Also take a look at this simlar DJI Forum Thread -> Click here to look at another Battery Calibration thread.
Calibration includes dischargng the battery under sufficient load below 5% and then allow the battery to cool. Once cool, it should be re-charged fully.

What percentage of the charge to properly store batteries for a long period?
Charge batteries to 50% for storage and set their discharge rate for 10 days. In the past year, there have been lot of battery issues resulting in lost aircraft. Only fly on fully charged batteries. These lipo batteries will voltage sag when placed under heavy load so the current battery firmware will reduce aircraft power demand depending on the battery charge and temperature. This is most noticeable below 30%. So flying below 30% should be done using very conservative stick inputs and anticipate a "mushy response" from the aircraft.

How to discharge your Intelligent Flight Battery:
To effectively calibrate the battery capacity, it is recommended to charge and discharge the battery thoroughly for every 10 charge-and-discharge cycle. User should install the battery onto the aircraft and then power on the aircraft to initiate the discharge process, discharge the battery until the aircraft is powered off automatically. User should then fully charge the battery to ensure the battery is working at its optimal.

Slow: Place the Intelligent Flight Battery into the inspire 1 Pro's Battery Compartment and power it on. Leave it on until there is less, than 5% of power left, or until the battery can no longer be turned on. Launch the DJI GO app to check battery level.

Rapid: Fly the inspire 1 Pro outdoors until there is less then 5% of power left, or until the battery can no longer be turned on.

(For Russian users and professionals)
Intelligent Flight Battery:

-----------------------------------------

As I understand it, for the discharge battery I just need to insert the battery in the inspire 1, and to power on the aircraft (without starting the motors) and leave until he shuts down — this will mean a complete discharge. Better to do it without a X3 gimbal? Because I feel sorry for the way camera heated from overheating.

I have a question: the calibration of the battery must be done immediately after flashing 1.3, or can I just put the 1.8 and then to calibrate?
Or need to upgrade everything to 1.3, to make the category up to 5% of all 4 batteries, charge the battery again to 100% and then update to 1.8?

How to discharge your Intelligent Flight Battery:
To effectively calibrate the battery capacity, it  ...

Important! Battery Calibration is a periodic aircraft maintenance action. It is NOT required as part of any of your firmware upgrade actions.

Better to do it without a X3 gimbal? Agree, but optional according to your choice.

Must battery calibration be done immediately after flashing 1.3, or can I just put the 1.8 and then to calibrate? NO. Simply upgrade the firmware on your aircraft and batteries. Then, as you fly your aircraft, track your batteries and perform routine maintenance. DJI initially recommended battery calibration every 20 charge cycles. Today they have adjusted the recommendation to every 10 charge and discharge cycles. The latest DJI GO App will alert you when it sees large discrepancies in battery power.

Like all aircraft maintenance, battery calibration is at your discretion and judgement.  Some pilots have never calibrated their batteries. Today, the software uses predictive estimation of how much power is in the TB47/TB48 battery. This estimation drifts with battery usage. Calibration simply corrects any power estimation drift so that the GO App knows correctly when our "fuel" is sufficient for safe flight...
