Hello,
I've owned the phantom 4 for only two weeks now. It's my first drone. I'm having the same issue from the very beginning out of the box.. I just wanted to add that this has been happening to me in dji app 2.8.1 and 2.8.2
During the first week i used the drone I constantly received a "weak transmission signal" message and the screen would black out or go half way pixelated green. I would only be able to see half the screen. I could not fly by just looking at the screen. I figured me being completely new, i just didn't have all the settings tweaked.
The second week, I updated the drone firmware, remote controller, and the mini iPad all to the latest software. Tested the drone, it was still the same "weak transmission signal"
The next night is when I updated the dji app on the iPad. The test was the same, did not get better.
So, I started searching the threads because i thought it might be that my mini iPad was the problem. I found this thread. Per a suggestion on page 2, i changed the "image tranmission settings" and it has helped.
I changed:
channel mode to "custom"
Selected channel 14 (had a little green bar)
Changed the transmission quality from 8mbps to 4
The result was a 90% fix. I don't have the green pixelated half screen anymore. I can fly looking at screen now.
But, i still get a few "weak transmission signal" messages and screen goes black for a second (flickers) during outdoor flight. Maybe 5 times during a 10 min flight.
