Can someone explain how the VPS works, and over which surfaces should it be on/off?
Mainly how low over water can I go before the VPS needs to be disabled?
VPS combines ultrasonic sensors with visual motion sensing using visual contrast to help stabilize the aircraft at lower altitudes. The sensor(s) specs can be found on the aircraft specs page -> Click here to view the P3P specs...
These include:
Velocity Range -> Less than 8 m/s (2 m above ground) (26 ft/s (6.5 ft above ground))
Altitude Range -> 30 cm-300 cm (11.8 inches to 9.8 ft)
Operating Range -> 50 cm-300 cm (1.6 ft to 9.8 ft)
Operating Environment -> Surface with clear pattern and adequate lighting (Lux > 15)
