Hi Guys

I may have solved the common range issue with the phantom 3 standard:
I installed the 1.5.7+ firmware on the device and used the DJI Go Geo Beta App, instead of the newest DJI Go App!

Well, i flew only 250m with a hight of 70m for about 5min, but i had absolutely no issues and a perfect signal and video transfer! By the way, i was in a city area with high interference!
With the newest firmware and DJI Go App, i always lost the signal after 30 to 50m.
so, i'm quite happy with this solution.

Since i'm doing my yearly military sevice right now, i won't have the chance to fly much further within the next two weeks. But maybe anyone else can test it.

I can't see this APP available on the android play store, are yo using IOS or can you tell me where the APK link is please? I would like to try as I have been suffering with the same range issues with video drop out on my android devices. Thank you

they obviously dont provide it anymore. maybe you can ask them?

yes this is the right app.

i didn't test the max. range yet. but i flew for 5min and had absolutely no issues.

I have checked 2 minutes ago and it's out now the new versione of the official app on google play store (for android).
I will try the new one and if doesn't resolve the signal problem i will try your solution.

updated to 2.8.1 but it is only app's update. there is no change drone's firmware. still same. didn't fly yet but i don't think if there is any upgrade the firmware or range issue.

Yes You are right. I fly today but still the same.

carlo_CH have you done other tests? Today i will try your solution.

hi,

just want to ask if you know how to relink rc with bird. i have tried the 2 methods which is by app and on manual on remote but still cannot link.

i sent my drone (drone only) for repair and it just came back today.

Yes there are two methods:
1) Inside the app: you have to press rc relync (or similar) and then you have 50 seconds to press the button on the botton of the drone
2) you have to switch up and down left switch on the top of rc (i dont' remember if s1 or s2) until rc beep. then you have to press the buttom on the bottone of the drone

app: its says linking complete but when i checked the bird it still solid red

same goes with the method 2. i also tried many times

this is frustrating

Try this: Power off aircraft, controller and DJI Go app. In app manager in your phone go to DJI Go app, clear cache, clear data, clear tik on the show notifications, force stop then uninstall. After all re install DJI Go app and try again.
Running sequence:
1) Start controller
2) Start DJI Go app
3) Connect to controller
4) Start aircraft
and then try linking
I hope its work.

move your bird away from your pc, laptop, tv or any magnetics. turn off your internet modem. flip left upper switch and press and hold the button bottom of aircraft. try again pls.

i updated the firmware and was also able to link my RC to the bird. Now just went and did test flight.. surprisingly i paid for repair and got through all hassle and my drone was not even fixed. i still get disconnected after 2 meters of flight

so disappointed with dji

Alright guys, i made some more testflights today. Flew a range of about 700m and 120m height and had absoluetely no signal issues. One in a mountain.area, one in a citiy-area. Perfect video transmission, perfect rc-signal.
I'm totally happy with my settings right now and i sure won't change the firmware or the dji go app anymore.

Ok so you are with a p3s with firmware 1.5.7 and dji go app 2.44, am i right?
I have just installed this app and downgraded my p3s to 1.5.7.
Here it's raining so i have to wait.
How long the downgrade process takes? Mine only few minutes.

Exactly, i'm using the same version.

Yes it takes a few minutes. You can check your current firmware after downgrading by pressing the academy-button in the dji go app for 10sec.

The version of the DJI Go App i'm using is v2.7.2.

I installed the 1.5.7+ too
but my ios 2.8.3 I find somewhere android and try to do the test now

Ok. I found the 2.7.2 apk file. Will give a try today or tomorrow. Will let you know the results.

i tried both. I also tried with another app DJI Geo Beta or something like that. Also  upgrade the fw again and try again but no success for me. I think this is the end of the story

how do you downgrade your quad firmware? is it possible to brick it?

I downgrade with the SD card. After i see 100% on the screen i turn off and then turn on the rc and ac. Then i check it from the academy menu and i see that it is 1.5.70+ i don't think it's bricked

I tried it but nothing changes. I tried with the latest android version. Then i dowloaded 2.7.2 version. And at last i alsa tried with DJI Geo beta. But i cannot solve the problem. Still giving signal lost in 100 meters
