I'm gonna to sell my phantom 3 professional and buy a phantom 4 instead.
Do you have any advise?
Price, service, problems and whatever you want to share with a "P4 newbie"!

If it were me id stick with the 3 for now...wait until they have sorted out the teething issue with the 4 (search these forums you will find them)

3 pro is still a kick ass machine.

Problems I have are horizon tilt (but not all the time, and 'may' be rectified using adjustment in App', or editing), P4 drops altitude a bit (up to 10 feet, but never heard of any crashing yet because of this) if it comes to a sudden high speed stop, and avoid DJI GO 2.8.2 for the time being. The effects of these can be reduced in part if good calibration is carried out on all items that need it.

Other than that my P4  works well.

Waiting until 2.8.2 fix appears or next firmware update to address problems mentioned might be the wisest move, but if you don't mind a couple of minor work-arounds (adjust or edit tilt if it is a problem, easy on the breaks when stopping, and stick with DJI GO 2.8.1 for the time being).

Since you're already calling yourself a "P4" newbie, I suspect you have already made your decision.

The P3P is hard to beat as an aerial photography platform at that price.

If you are more into the "wow" factor of new gadgetry then go for the P4.

If instead you are wanting great aerial photography, at a great price without the potential snags of a new product still in Beta testing, stay with the P3P.

A wiser approach might be......

Research the updates to see what they will do or what others have said about the updates, then, from an informed point of view, update (or do not) accordingly.

P3P with controller GL300A or GL300B has more range than P4 with GL300C
and P4 has many yet unsolved problems.

I honestly don't see what the P4 offers to a seasoned P3P pilot, the obstacle avoidance is the biggest new feature and an experienced P3 pilot won't need that.

Have you still got the altitude drop with the new DJI Go app?

I took mine out the other night and it was perfect.  When stopping from high speed (sport mode) the P4 gained a bit of altitude and then settled back down. I think at most it may have lost 1-2 feet occasionally but certainly nothing I could complain about.

I took mine out the other night and ...

I had to abandon DJI GO 2.8.2 because of serious video transmission problems.

Rolled back to 2.8.1

BUT hot off the press there is new firmware available for the P4 see DJI-Tims post http://forum.dji.com/thread-54145-1-1.html

This could change all (or maybe not  ).

Given the problems and effort taken to roll back to 2.8.1 I am a bit reticent to try, will have a think about it...

I'm going to update my P4 now as I'm planning on taking it out later today.  I'll let you know how I get on with it.
[EDIT]Whereabouts in the UK are you? I don't know anyone else with a drone near me.[/EDIT]

Oops!
Actually i have tried my friend's P4, and i think it great.
I'm not sure enough whether it is worthy to "abandon" my P3P and then go for a new one, cause i just bought that drone on Nov. last year. It really did a good job and never crash.
However the outlook of P4 is so awesome!!!I just can't wait to have one!!
If only i can possess both of them!!!

I would like a p4, and I may get one in the future, but for now, I have a p3p that's works beautifully. I don't want to be frustrated with a drone I have to fight to get up in the air and recording the way I want. I know it's a nice machine...just a bit too early for me to buy one.

No of course it's not a bye bye face. Its a sweet hello face reminding me that she's at home waiting.

Maybe you can see if any of your drone friends could lend you a p4 for 5 minutes for you to tell if there's any significant difference between yours and theirs. At least you can test on maneuverability, ease of control, responsiveness, etc - the basic flight controls. Then you could expand to the needs of sonars etc that the old bird hasn't got. As some may have said that camera wise might be slightly different, but for the p4 as an entirety is like the iPhone 6 compared to the slightly older 5s. Sorry if that turns out to be a bad example. Cheers mate!
