Hello, it's impossible to update using DJI Assistant on MacOS....

I had the same trouble updating with my Mac. I found Colin Smith's tutorial for updating to be more useful.

What are you referring to as a pack?

Since English is not my native language there might be other people more suited to answer that then me. But quite certain it's battery pack they are referring to.

Used a win-7 pc with asistant-2, hung at 92% which is where it did a reboot but never came back....

restarted P4 and assistant-2, came up as 100% complete v410

Hmm last time it got to 99% and hung the same.....v301

Ive never gotten to 100% on the assist2 app yet both times upgrade was completed...........wtf?

Started the Upgrade it went up to 66%, then suddenly aircraft automatically disconnected from my pc and upgrade was interrupted.
Tried to restart the upgrade it fails at 0%, tried formatting SD card, tried to downgrade - it fails at 0%...
No idea what to do, in DJIgo app Aircraft firmware - N/A.
GG...
Any suggestions?

I'm confused.  Maybe someone can explain what I'm missing here.  My iOS devices were updated with Go on 5/25 to version 2.8.2 and that's when I got vid transmission problem.  Worked great before and poorly afterwards with banding, black-screens, etc. after the update.  Above it says 2.8.2 (same version) is released today 5/31.  How are they releasing the same version?  PS.  I don't see that new update mentioned in this thread on my iOS devices yet.

Read the manual watch as many  tutorial videos videos as you can. Start with small flights, Know the bird and enjoy. buenos vuelos

Up here on the hill tops of Northumberland we had to use four people to hold the roofer's ladder in place while he fitted a new vent tile for the bathroom extractor ... my Phantom sat on the windowsill indoors laughing at us through the window.

My Samsung Tab 2, was notified of a firmware update, downloaded it, plugged it to my phantom 4, and updated firmware,

It finished, all good, as easy as that, have noticed that some of the menu's changed, went through them all and reset to my settings.

I just did a couple of longer range flights (8-9 thousand feet) with the new firmware and the 1.8.2 app. I think that the firmware worked fine but the video drop outs were a much bigger problem. I can see that the bit rate has a lot to do with the problem. Lowering it to the minimum got me extra range. I also set the channel to 13 which is supposed to work the best. This was over a rural type community so not much WiFi interference. By the time the drone was to 8000 feet, the video barely worked at all. The signal strength still showed it being strong so the problem is that the bit rate is not getting adjusted automatically for the signal strength/range.

Just let it run these aircraft resets are part of the update process.

Mine still has the altitude problem

One more thought: It sure would be nice if all the settings did not get reset every time I do a firmware upgrade. Hey DJI, how about saving them as an XML file so you can reload them safely and automatically after the update?

This release is just another proof that DJI will continue ignoring us and the problem with horizon, altitude dropping and the weak signal issue will not be solved. Everybody is screaming around and they just don't care. All they care is selling out RAW drones and collecting money. I personally quit. Selling mine ASAP.

I admit it: I am still scared to do a firmware update!

Some say use the app, some say use the DJI pc program.  What works better?

I just downgraded my app to 2.8.1  so maybe I should use the WIN program?

And then what do I do to update the silly batteries?  Do I start the firmware
again for each silly battery?  

Can we have an official step by step manual how to do the firmware updates?

Even though the next question doe snot apply in this update:
Are we supposed to do the craft first and then the controller?
On the P3 when I did a few craft first, then the controllers would no
longer connect....  I am Confused and Afraid

You will see the battery lights change to have the second and third light flash during firmware update, its at this point it is updating it. If you have more than one battery, put the other one in and the GoApp will say the firmware is inconsistent and allow you to update the other battery(s).

Hi Sploodge, my phantom is still running with old which is v1.0.288. My controller is also with old firmware. I have no confidence in new firmware. Heard you have updated to latest firmware V1.1.410. Does it fly well? any issue so far? should I go for the update?

No issue I have noticed. The only issues I have seen other have is when installing it ( not any issue with it flying )..

The worry with remaining on an old firmware is that maybe DJI resolve an important issue that was never documented in the release notes or that many users would have encountered..

Installing or not is your choice

My first update via DJI Assistant 2 got stuck at 36%, turned P4 off and tried again and 100% complete 2nd time with confirmation message, now I noticed updates to Android and Apple apps, both updated, will test now with Android tablet

There are TWO things: Firmware and the DJI GO App... allthough working together the problems came from both sources. But there is a NEW firmware AND a new version of the DJI GO app............. going for a test soon....

They said don't update DJI GO apps to 2.8.2

stuck at 99% after upgrading from the DJI GO APP... once you start the transmitter, it completes to 100 %

Also the annoying gimbal sound on start-up is gone ;)

IOS DJI GO 2.8.3 has just been released!

updated aircraft v1.1.410 and android 2.8.1, had 3 flights, no problem.

I flew a couple of batteries with the new update:

- With the previous version v1.1.301 I NEVER HAD the altitude drop when stopping... after the upgrade, with the new version, I am sadly experiencing it... but on the funny side, sometimes it goes up as well, instead of down (1 out of 10, lets say)

- I am still running DJI GO app v2.8.1, and also after the upgrade I had a couple or artifacts and green bands in the screen when I was waiting for the IMU initialization... something that never happened with the 1.1.301 either.

DJI, is it worth it for me to upload the log anywhere ?

Just Updated my Phantom 4 which I received las week of April.

Yesterday night (Time in Spain) I upgraded first DJI GO App both in my iPhone and iPad mini. In the case of P4 firmware, I used DJI Assistant in a portable Asus PC running Windows 8. DJI Assistant did not alerted me to upgrade it.

First time intent to upgrade the firmware failed. I got stuck not knowing what to do, until I realized that the battery in the drone was at only 20% juice. After charging it, everything went smoothly. When the "Success" notice appeared in the screen, I switched off the drone... and it re-started WITHOUT the squeaky annoying noise in the camera gimbal ! Transmission weak signal alert has also dissapeared    :-) Ihave noticed also that some personalized settings like advanced flight modes "on" and other  photo and video settings have reset to initial default. Please, after upgrading I recommend to check all settings just in case some of them went lost.

I have four batteries, and when plugging the ones not used during the upgrade, DJI Assistant showed the need to upgrade the Phantom firmware as if this had not been made yet. No other sign of my previous succesful operations appearde as well. Thus, I have had to upgrade four times, but the second, third and fouth tiem, the process was much much shorter: around four to five minutes. The last battery update lasted only 55 seconds.

I will fly next saturday, and will post any relevant result.

Anyone , did the new Firmware fix the tilt gimbal issue ?
