There were people in the original thread regarding video transmission issues on P3A and P3Ps reporting the issue.  Something isn't right if the description is solely for P4 (which I saw also had a fw update), but the original announcement seemed to recognize that P3s also had the video transmission issue, but that was deleted in the new version of the announcement.

So the question is (and REALLY not trying to prolong this - REALLY) but did DJI recognize it as a P3/P4 issue or P4 only.  I guess those with P3s will chime in soon enough, but I'm on 2.8.1, never jumped to 2.8.2 because of this.  If not fixed on 2.8.3 for P3s, I don't want to make the jump unnecessarily.  I can restore from a backup, but not the point.  Can we get clarity please on why the description change and if P3 transmission issues were addressed?  Thanks in advance.

This fis was for the P4 ONLY, if you have no image transmission signal from your P3P after updating, please post the hidden log file. If you have already formatted the SD card then download the 1.8 firmware again from the Phantom Pro page and reattempt the update then post the hidden log from the SD card.If the log looks like the image with module 8 & 15 saying Device Not Detected then you will need to send the aircraft in for repair.

So if are able to post screenshots/ video clip and sync the flight records and provide your email and what the flight was.

This is what I have in my hidden log, not sure if it's right. I can see "Device not detected" several times though.
So does this mean that I have to send it in for repair?

If that is the case, it's absolutely f*cking ridiculous.
It worked just fine before the 2.8.2 DJI GO update.

Don't know if they're online but here were a few who said they had the same issues on P3 (somethings) .. These were all in the original thread.  Didn't go back to PhantomPilots to see if there are folks there as well.  Like I said, I never went to 2.8.2 (had a job to shoot) but when I saw P3 folks saying they had it, stayed on 2.8.1 and tried to help others revert back to 2.8.1...

But next question.. when to comes to "this" function between the RC and Aircraft being talked to from the App, is there that much different from the app's perspective when talking to a P3 vs. P4?

After this update my P3A with iPad Air 2 had black bars in the live feed starting with the third battery.

I synced my flight records and it's the 3rd flight of June 1 the one lasting 3 minutes. I noticed the black bars when I was about 250 feet out then turned around to land and took the quick video below.

There are no files in my LOG dir: H:\MISC\LOG (yes I have hidden files shown in my options)

Not sure If I want to put my email in a public forum so if there is another way for me to get it to you please let me know.

This update has nothing to do with the P3 Standard.
If you have range issues, are they happening with your video signal still at full bars or do the signal bars diminish?

If so, then I'm sorry and the aircraft firmware update has caused the video transmission module to become corrupted.

Same thing as the prior person, your video transmission module has been corrupted and you need to send it in for repair. Please call 818-235-0789 and tell them you have no video and and module 8 & 15 are corrupted and email your log and they will start an RMA.

I posted earlier, when you get a signal loss, does the video signal bars go down or do they stay at full strength.
If they stay at full strength and you lose video then you may need to send the aircraft in to be looked at.
If the signal bars go down, then it is interference in your flight area.

The blurry video image in app must be related to firmware because I updated the firmware earlier today and use Android. The workaround is to switch color style to another style and then back again. I also notice it goes from sharp to blurry if you preview images and then go back to live feed.

Ken,

Is there anything that can recreate the visuals of a flight including the signal strengths, etc.. I'm on 2.8.1 as I said, and began to get weak signal warning about 1.5 miles out so not complaining... a little further and lost video, but not flight control.. What I don't recall is whether or not the bars were dropping (sorry was looking at distance).  I just looking to see if I can recreate (on the desktop) what the app looked like using the .dat files..  I can always re-fly the route and look for a reduction in signal strength..  I'm in a relatively "lower" treed area, but I'm sure there's also 2.4 interference flying as well.

I tried this on my iPad Air 2 and could not recreate this issue. I also tried on my Samsung Galaxy S6 (which I mainly use) and it's also fine. I wonder if pinch zoom on the map could be putting a strain on the iPad mini. Did this ever work for you?

The work around of resetting color style works in DGI Go app for iOS and Android and even in Litchi which has the same problem. If you switch color styles from say d-log to none you should see an immediate improvement then switch back to D-Log. It should be okay until you restart Phantom but I have also found that previewing pictures and going back to live feed brings back blur. It's a slight inconvenience but at least you can still fly and film with this issue.
