I have no flights on the 28th. I was using my iPad and just did a sync with my iPhone and all flights are now on my iPhone as well. So I know the Sync did work to the DJI servers with my iPad.

Please verify that you are using the correct ticket number 302758. Plus my name is Rob Reindl. I did receive an email so I know the email is correct in the system.

I think there is nothing wrong with your signal. If you are getting 1.5 miles in a area with trees and some 2.4 interference, I think your doing pretty good at 1.5 miles.

How can it be the "aircraft firmware" that caused this?

This problem occured when I installed the latest DJI GO app, not the latest firmware update for the drone.
Or am I simply misunderstanding you here?

Ken,

Agree.. Just was curious about the bars cause now that you mentioned it I don't "think" I saw them drop.  Definitely got the "weak" warning before lost video.. Maybe I just wasn't looking in the right spot.  :-)   Again, compared to some I have nothing to complain about other than when I had to do the hard reset on the iPad to get the app to talk to the RC again..  Again though, 2.8.1... hesitant to move.. and will pay more attention next time to signal strength indicator..  Thanks.

Firmware update can damage that module (it's the module on the top of the gimbal).  Donnie (a frequent contributor here) outlined his steps for fw updates and has also mentioned seeing the module get corrupted ..  

a) Make sure app is at current level
b) update aircraft with RC turned OFF
c) update RC through DJI GO app with aircraft turned off.

If necessary then apply any updates to batteries as needed.

Have to try and capture an Aurora with Phantom.  :-)  That would be incredible in 4K if you can get it.. especially with field of view as wide as it is..  You're in prime Aurora territory there..  :-)

Yes but I have been flying with the same aircraft firmware (v1.8.80) for 2 months  without a problem?
Then 2.8.2 App gets released and everything goes to hell.

And what about fixing the bug on P3S that disconnects the aircraft after some minutes?
This is a big issue thats happening with so many P3S owner. Just look the threads..

Thanks for checking. It appears the reboot of my iPad did the trick. I just flew another 15 minutes and no issues even near a bunch of routers.

Thanks for the confirmation Ken, I have just flown today used up 3 Batteries and so far my signal is once again rock solid and the auto lights out for video or stills works a treat.

If you don't reset the color settings in movie settings, your fpv image  ...

I tried your method, but it keeps getting blurry again as soon as I switch back from video to photo mode. And it does not only affect the preview image, but the recorded footage as well! Any other ideas?

My guess is because the PH4 was advertised and sold as an Apple certified product, I don't know if it was the same in every country but here in Australia Apple got to be the only seller of the PH4 for the first 2 or 3 weeks, on one side of the outer box there is a lot of Apple advertising saying it works with FCPX and another ad that lists all of the Apple devices that work with it, and there is no mention that it works with Android, on saying that I use an iPad mini4 and a Samsung S7

You guys need to understand that there will be two development teams working on the iOS and Android version of these apps and the process of submitting apps to both app stores is different. You should not expect apps on the different OS to be released at exactly the same time. If iOS comes just before Android it will have nothing to do with Apple selling the P4's. The last Android (2.8.1) update was on Monday with some nice new features and fixes! How often do you want updates??? Also note that the minor version may be different between Android and iOS if bugs are fixed that only impact one OS.

Got that the 2.7 fix was for P3P.  Thought you were saying the transmission fix was P3P as well..  Release notes still say P4 only for transmission..  Thanks!

Maybe a stupid question, but I'd rather be stupid and do things right than smart and start making stupid assumptions. Do I need to delete the old DJI GO app and then install the new version or will installing the new IOS version of 2.8.3 stack on top of the old app?

If you look at the video, The picture breaks up on my mini iPad and goes pixelated green lines. does anybody know why this is happening on my mini iPad but it is not happening on my large iPad Air.
