Is there a way to erase recorded flight data from the aircraft?

Go to the flight record you wish to delete and swipe from the right. This will show the garbage can in red and the favorites star.  

I don't know how to (delete) remove the flight data from the aircraft.

Take it you are interested in the files on the craft itself, not what is stored in the GoApp?
There is no way to delete the data from the Inspire itself (as I am aware off), the flight logs are stored in a read only access card in flight controller. As far as I know only DJI can do that, they will however overwrite as memory depletes. It used to be possible to delete them but DJI changed the access to them to be read only, probably so users could not delete and then claim warranty for repairs that was caused by pilot errors.
