I have downloaded all the correct assisstant softwares for my Phantom 2 with H4-3D gimbal and my aim is to enable Naza Mode, and recalibrate my gimbal to angle the full 90 degrees (which so far will not go vertical or horisontal). However when i plug in my drone or RC the softwares are completly unresponsive, even though my laptop (Windows 8) shows they are connected. I have yet to find any help on this problem, so any help at all will be most appretiated.
Thanks , Sean.

Sean,

What is the color of the lights in the lower left of the Phantom Assistant?
You should have a green light as in this pict. on the lower left...

Did you also download the DJI Win driver installer as none of the DJI Phantom  2 softwares will work without it.

are you plugged into the correct port on the Phantom, the one underneath the little flap?
Try another usb port on your computer as well,

And if none of the above are applicable,
delete all your software, completely uninstall

re start the install with the Win Driver first and go from there.

Well o.k.,

Have you tried another USB Cable, or another PC if you have access to one,

I also presume you have the correct version softwares loaded for your bird...as there are numerous

Some p.c's need administrative rights enabled/disabled, there were numerous threads on some folks having similar issues. if this is a work p.c. and you do not have admin rights it might be locking you out.

I do have full admin access, the cable isn't the problem as the laptop itself recognizes the drone is connected.
