I found this process to work better than taking the whole accelerometer off. Just hit the opposite side that you crashed and you will be back in the air sooner than you think

Hahaha.... Well if you think about it like this, if he did whack it off, he might simply have to send it to DJI TO BE REPAIRED..... he won't be any worse off then he was before as far as down time is concerned.
It might add a few bucks to the bill ... But it's usually the down time that hurts more.

It is recommended to get in touch with our tech support and send it in when you meet the accelerometer failure.

Do you mean there's some kind of mechanism that's stuck in the accelerometer and you can fix it just by shaking it loose?

That did the trick for me,  My drone was beeping a double beep and would NOT calibrate at all.
I smacked it on all sides and then turned it on, the errors went away and I was able to calibrate.

YEA!!!!!!

Ha! Now that is... interesting!!! Now i have to readup on how accelerometers work! I guess there has to be some sort of physical movement and piezoelectric sensor, or sensors? I never really even think about it! Interesting!

That hack was discovered a while back when someone crashed and couldn't calibrate the IMU.

You can read about it here: http://forum.dji.com/thread-19612-1-1.html
