Hi Ken,

It was a beautiful day on the Oregon Coast .....

I take off from the case and it's on a big towel with rocks at all 4 ends so no chance of the wind blowing a corner of the towel up.
I hand catch (don't tell) so my aircraft never even comes close to sand.
I just use a damp cloth and wipe everything down, and when I get home I use compressed air.
I really don't fly at the beach that often, I don't have any rust showing anywhere. If so I may try CorrosionX on a cloth just for the heck of it to see. It's safe for electronics.

Thanks for sharing your experience and ideas with us Ken

The first item on your list is the landing pad.
1) I am using the self weighted Hoodman 3 foot landing pad. It is a bit tight for the Inspire 1 in windy conditions but is great for the Phantom 3 or 4
2) I will use a damp towel with some very lightly applied dish soap.... then towel off again with clean water.
3) most likely did not get much salt spray on the drones this time. I will look into getting some CorrosionX for the future.
As you know I tend to get more flying around the river than the ocean lately... so that will not be a problem.

PS I still need to finish the TB47 battery test for you... but today I flew down to 15% and got 14 min of flying time (on the same battery 4244mAh) ... and I was not going slow (if you know what I mean)

I noticed on the map that it has tagged the ORF airport near me but not the two Airforce bases. Is there a place to report these areas so they can be tagged as well? I will list the GPS cords for them if that helps

I hope this is not a dumb question. I have a possible job the is inside the 1.5 mile no fly zone (red).  it is close the edge of the airport with good vision of the traffic.

Can you fly under 40 feet in "F" mode to get these shots needed?

To be safe I would go through the NFZ activation process with FlySafe@dji.com.
When you are in the NFZ you cannot take off in any mode as the GPS is still recording your position.
Sorry I don't have a happier answer for you.

Hi Ken,

I have received the email from the DJI team. It's looks to be pretty straight forward and will be getting the documentation together as requested. The aircraft serial number no longer shows in the Go App (about page) and it used to be under your aircraft on the profile. Where is this located now?

Look inside and around the battery box, I believe you can also use the flight controller number in the about page. There should also be stickers on the case and the shipping box if you still have it.

I have the case and the numbers are on the stickers. But for others that are reading these posts please note the IRQ sticker on the back of the battery box on the ID plate .... this is the aircraft serial number. I used a scanner App on my phone to pull up the number code and took a screen shot. Or you can read the tiny print I thought this was worth sharing with everyone.

PS I flew tonight one battery (the one we have discussed before) about 86*F and was real easy on the flight hover max 65 feet just checking out the functions etc.  12min to 28%  The new remote FW was working fine.

Also, I was getting the RC signal warning and be careful not to fly to far ... bah bah bah  I restarted the aircraft 2 times and it did not go away. This is a proven area by my house to fly for years without issues.  The good news is the video downlink was solid.

Hi Ken

I have the RMA and return information just today. Good Job DJI getting this to me timely.  I cleaned all the contacts and checked all the cable connections.... I flew one more flight 13 min at my home the first few mins were ok, then it started to lock up and video streaming downlink was cutting out. Pretty badly I might add. So I looked the camera SD chip and 1 of 2 video files were corrupted...  So it might be the camera... don't really know for sure.

back to the DJI shop it goes...  I will email you the RMA number or ticket number so you can check in on the issue for me at the shop.

FYI, the repairs are complete already based on the DJI repair status page. Wow that was fast! I did not see the reason or cause of the issues posted.  Can you tell me what they found or just mail this to me please...

Are the fires still causing problems down in SO CA? I was at Crater Lake National Forrest and they were fighting a west rim fire during my visit. They also posted no launching or flight of drones at the lake or in the park!!

I wonder how many more parks are following this drones banned approach

Ya, fires still a big issue here. My friend just was asked by park officials not to fly at the park anymore.
I've never had any issues but I fly mostly in areas where no people are around.

Well I don't know if you have been to the Crater Lake area but there are many areas where there are no people that you could safely fly (not over the lake). It would be awesome to get some aerial video (10K feet) without causing any risk to others.

In the past I would fly sight seeing tours around the lake in 182 Cessna  during the summer to make some extra money. The FAA has posted that you cannot fly over the lake but you could get great shots from the outside edges no problem.

It would have been a nice place to fly...

I received my tracking number from the DJI repair team...       SUPER FAST REPAIR   Did the provide a new camera or refurbished?  I guess it really doesn't matter so much just curious

I will open a new thread and report my experience once I get it back !

Thanks Ken, I certainly will. All I can say at this point is super fast and friendly service from DJI.

It is due to arrive on Friday and that is about 10 days including UPS shipping time.
