Bought my Phantom 3 4k about 3days ago, and the first flights went ok, but today I went outside to fly it, and it said no signal.
I can still fly it and record, but after a few minutes I can´t see what the drone is recording. Yesterday everything went ok, but now it says no signal.
I´ve seen that a lot of people have this problem so....can I fix it? Do I have to get a replacement or refund from dji?? someone help please...

Help us DJI same problem here after 40 meters

Hello thejohnlouis, have you tried to adjust the RC and antenna during the flight? Does the range remain the same in different open area?

Ah, I thought it was just me! Same problem here, but with the P3A.

Was flying well, getting great distance, even in the city. About 1km away with full remote signal.

P3A sat on the floor for a couple of days, then took it out again, and it looses signal after about 40 meters as well. Drops off very quickly. Upgraded the firmware to 1.9 (it was out of date), didn't help.

I called DJI support, they said try to go back to the 1.8 firmware. Did that. No dice.

Oh, and at the same time I got these two other errors:

- It "forgets" where the home point it, and just lands sort-of-close to the home point (very nearly hit some trees last time).
- Compass is way off, making it dangerous to fly. No amount of calibrating sorts it out.

I've read so many threads on signal issues. It would be awesome if DJI tried trouble shooting this, rather than just posting the same video over and over (which we've obviously read, given we were able to fly our drones before the error).

Are you flying at the same location you did before?  About losing signal for 40 meters, did you try flying elsewhere? Does compass say "compass error"?

Yep, very quickly goes from "Weak Signal" to "Connection Lost" then to get it to reestablish, I have to be standing next to the darn thing.

Yes, on both counts.

Flew it at the same location in the city that I'd got great distance at before. 40 meters.

Tried flying it out in the country, made it a bit further away, but not much.

And yep, "Compass Error" - recalibrated it outside, in the middle of a park.

I get the " no signal" and loss of camera but P3A still flies fine but does give me the RTH option on the screen
It always happens on my first battery and then it's fine on every other battery

Hi, I'm sorry to say that you may need to contact support@dji.com and send it for repair.    This is most likely a hardware issue.

When you said your first battery, are you referring to a specific battery, or the order of batteries used when you're flying a drone?  Like the drone has good range when you warm the drone up with a battery?

I was getting flashes of no signal yesterday for short periods of time while I was right next to the thing.
No apparent loss of control during that time, then the no signal stopped appearing.
Wide open area that I've flown before without any issues.

It's always  the 1st battery
I guess just the order of batteries
The batteries are all at full charge but seems the first time I start up is when I have issues
When I land and put in 2nd battery it's perfect as well as the 3rd battery

Hi, it doesn't sound like hardware issue, maybe the transmitter malfunctioned.  If you just bought it, please contact the seller for an exchange/refund? Otherwise you can contact support@dji.com for repair.

Hi, have you tried "warming up" the drone for five minutes before you fly? Just connect the drone with RC, you see live image, then after five minutes or so, start the rotors and fly.
Also, what if after your first battery drone returns, and you don't change the battery, and start flying again?

It takes me 5 minutes just to get ready and check everything and then start the motors and I let it hover to make sure all is good.
Then a few minutes into the flight I get the red no signal.
It still flies fine but camera loses signal too.
I don't try flying on same battery after reading of issues of re-starting and flying again on a low battery or less than 100% charged battery  
I put in 2nd battery and all good
I put in 3rd battery and all good.

Hi, assuming during the first battery, you lost image transmission at 500 meters, then you can fly back, shut down the drone, get the battery out and put the same battery into the drone again.

At this time, the battery should have at least 70% capacity remaining, enough for you to do another test to see how far it goes.

Also, can you try another SD card?  I know this sounds unrelated, but sometimes it causes issues.

Interesting you mentioned the SD card. I was using a different one and just put in the original card that came with the P3A but haven't tested it yet.
I'll try it today and let you know

1st flight with original SD card went well.
I was using a SanDisk Extreme 32gb U3 per other recommendations
I only got the brown signal safe to fly non gps one time that I saw.
Why does it say in the details that I switched to GPS atti mode when I didn't?

You can see the battery got hot and it's 110*F today
When things cool down I'll try the other SD card

Hey guys just got my P3 4k about a week ago and I started doing some practice flight. First time I did it a message popped up that said signal lost. Also, every time I fly the drone it never shows me the message at the top middle that says " safe to fly" . Is this normal?
