No, it was added to the X3 & OSMO, but not the X5 or X5R.

The X5 and X5R can use the Olympus 14-42mm -> the pros & cons of this lens are well discussed within the forum.
(Olympus is currently offering a $100 discount on the 14-42mm, see B&H, Amazon, etc)

Or you could spring for the Z3 and provide us with a review

As terrylewis indicated, the X5 alone does not have optical zoom, but you could use a 3rd party zoom lens in order to acquire that function.
