It is indeed lots of stills stitched into a pano and uploaded to Google. I wish it was a bit easier!

Here's a YouTube link that will give you an idea of how it's done. I'm using a Phantom 4 and Kolor Autopano Giga for the stitcher. I also shoot the drone images manually so that I can control the exposure per shot.

I use a separate DSLR on the ground to take a sky panorama for each flight, that way the skies tend to blend better.
