Hi,

I'm having problems with my system:

S1000, A2, LightBridge 1, Z15 HD GH4.

For almost the last 2 years I have not been able to get a video picture from the GH4.

I power on Lightbridge Ground Unit, Futaba 14SG, Black Pearl Monitor and Android Phone / Tablet to run the Lightbridge App.

Power on the S1000, wait for gimbal to finish initializing. Green light on front of gimbal. Power on GH4 and the light begins to blink red. No video signal is available.

I've tried:

Resetting GH4
Replacing GH4
Trying GoPro 3 and 4 plugging into HDMI cable whilst craft is powered on
Replacing HDAV board (3 times)
Replacing HDMI ribbon cable (3 times)
Replacing G6, G9 & G7 cables (3 times)
Replaced GCU (3 times)
Sent back to DJI twice for RMA - HDAV board replaced, all wiring replaced
Replaced Lightbridge System
Sent entire system to DJI technician - unable to identify fault

Still stuck with blinking red light on gimbal when camera is powered on. Plugging either the GH4 or Gopro directly into the Lightbridge air unit produces an image *most of the time*.

Anyone have any suggestions?

When was the last time you updated the firmware? What version of the Assistant Software are you running?

Problem is present on all firmware. I have a copy of assistant 1.2 and 1.4 and have tried 3 different GCU's running 3 sets of firmware.

I am currently running the latest firmware on the gimbal.

As you can see in the image, plugging the GH4 directly into the Lightbridge Air Unit results in a successful image transmission. Which rules out the camera and lightbridge, leaving only the Gimbal, correct?

What is the HDMI resolution set to on your camera, is it set to 1080i? The gimbal itself is set to HD and not AV, correct? Is the gimbal setting in the Lightbridge app set to HD gimbal and not HD/AV?

I've tried both 1080i and 1080p outputs, along with auto. The gimbal is set on HD. Lightbridge App is configured correctly to HD Gimbal as source.

I also just tried another tested and working Z15 GH4HD Zenmuse gimbal I borrowed from a friend. The problem is still there, even with a different gimbal and GCU.

Success!

I managed to track down some more parts to troubleshoot with. It turns out I had 2 lightbridge air units with the same fault - both brand new.

The fault is no video passing through the G7 port on the LB air unit. Plugged directly into the HDMI input it works, but no signal through the G7 port, causing a slow red flashing light on the front of the Z15.

Hopefully I can get some money back or a new air unit from the retailer I purchased from.

Edit:

I am getting a video signal through the HDMI output of the Lightbridge Ground Unit but not via the App. Any ideas there Jamie?

Captain  the problem you are experienced is probably a bad hdmi pub board on the zenmuse.  This is a known issue.  I have personally had to replace it 3 times in one of my zenmuses.
