Hey all
Just got a P3 and am beginning set up. Having trouble getting a tablet to work. Most of what we have are low end.
Im on android and my Samsung cell works great. Screens too snallof course. I did a search and got some ideas. Any recs?

Im not a noob to quads. Have been flying Naza 450s since 2012. They hard to beat.

Its just the P3 advanced is such a deal I bought in.

The app is quite demanding and if your tablet doesn't have the performance necessary it's not going to work.
With a suitable tablet, things will run sweet.

I have read that the Nvidia Shield works as well as the Samsung
Tab 4. I ultimately want to run Litchi.

Does this require the tab to be linked to the net? If so I can tether
it to my cell?

So far the visual device has been the biggest issue
to be up and running.

You cant go wrong with either an apple ipad air 2 or samsung galaxy tab s significantly cheaper now.

I wound up getting a Samsung Tab 4 in great condition for $85
off ebay. Loaded both the Dji Go and Litchi and both work great.

I set neither app is set as default and when powering up a powering
up a prompt window asks which app I want to use. Too cool!

Is there any real need for the DJI app? Cant the Litchi be used exclusively?
Seems to have everything the DJI does and more of course.

You can use either the GO app or Litchi app, but do not have both of them running at the same time.
And DJI does not offer any support for the Litchi app so if you were to have a crash and lose the aircraft and DJI cannot review the logs since you were not using the GO app it would not be covered under warranty.
And if the aircraft came in for an unknown crash and it could not be determined what caused the crash and may have been the app that had caused it then it would not be covered. for instance, you have a crash and hit a tree during a waypoint mission in Litchi, you would be responsible for the repair.

You need the dji app to calibrate the imu.

Yes, I would hope that at least the OP would use the GO to set up everything, then use the Litchi app if wanted.
