The rules are so badly written you could argue flying it anywhere is wrong... but ok
1. Within 50m of a vehicle not under your control (assuming you hadn't placed them under your controll and done a safety briefing, and assuming the law implies lateral distance not a 50m bubble).
2. Flying over anything - CAA recommended hiring a helicopter for anything that requires you to fly directly over buildings, vehicles, people etc. Or have a very good safety case in place. By default flying directly over endangers the person or vehicle below.
3. Within 150m of a congested area - a farmers field is substantially used for commercial purposes so could be argued to be 'congested'. While people are working in the field it's also a place of work.
Personally I think it's all crazy, as long as you are being responsible, respectful and as far as your actions go safe it's all ok. I promised myself not to talk about this rubbish anymore, makes me sad 
Are you going to get your Permission from CAA? Relaxes some of the rules, and if you do the paper work exercise you can get all the distances cut right down to 5m or less. |
