So today i went a little further than expected. Current range of the P34K is 500m in CE mode. I got 1015m, then got scared and flew back. I might just have gone even further if i would dare. Conditions were about optimal except for the wind. Any ideas why/how this happend?


If you have lightbridge and dont care about this kinda range, heres some unedited footage of the flight!

There is no rule that says your aircraft can only go 500 Metres, all thos figures are estimates, if it goes further then fine. Don't sweat it, it should always return home.

Lovely Sunset @ 0:40. I'm curious though as to why only 720P on utube. Was this shot in 4k ?

Hi! This was shot in 1280x720p 24fps. I totally forgot to set it to 1920x1080p which is the max of my screen card on this computer. Cant post process 4K yet but considering an upgrade as it's the future!

Thanks Michael! This was done in 5 minutes so wasn't really more than a sequel of yesterdays flight as it was a range test. But had to snap the sunset!

So your'e saying that 27dbm and 20dbm doesn't differ in distance? Or that CE-limitations is not to be bothered with?

just took my P3S to 7000' out before turning back..I do have the argtec antenna on RC and was in Alaska...so minimal interference.. Seemed I could have gone further that was the range of the video signal..I started 4000' the other direction.  So 11k' flight makes me pretty happy!!

Wow thats a pretty decent distance! Dont think i can fit the argtek on the 4K controller tho!

No. Reading my post I don't think that comes close to what I said. Under the conditions of unobstructed ground and zero competing radio signals, you can achieve the range you got and more.

You may consider the DBS mod then. I just installed it on my P3 4k. A little pricier though. You are getting alot more distance stock in ce mode then i can get with mine with the dbs mod in fcc mode. Im only maxing out at around 600m before RTH kicks in. I am in a pretty dense residential area but still figured i could get to 800-900 meters.
