Larger motors in Version 2 also the V2 comes with a larger X5 gimbal mount for the X3 camera.  That is about it.

Less range, less power and a ton of bloatware. I'm not being negative it's the truth!

That does not come standard though does it Jamie ?   Only if you have the X5 camera Pro edition correct ?

The Inspire 1 V2 does come stock with the taller landing gear to compliment the X5 vibration bracket, so that it's easy to upgrade to a X5 at any point. Essentially the Inspire 1 V2, the Pro and the RAW are the exact same craft with the price points dictated by the camera you choose to purchase with it.

Have to agree with Donnie, the Pro and Raw version comes with "Heels" (extensions) already fitted but the V2 does not. If you want to mount an X5 Camera on a V2 you need to purchase these "Heels" extra.

Because this is the internet, anyone can say anything without any supporting, empirical data. Do you have independent empirical data from multiple sources  to support this statement or is this "truth" as you call it just your unscientific observation?
I would just like to see something that backs up what you state as I've not heard this before...

That's a lot of big words Bart, I fly with 7 different people who have owned both versions of inspire and while the v2 has more power on paper it's a step down from the original because of firmware downgrades as we call them. Anyone who flew an inspire 1 1st version a thru d in the first half of 2015 will say the same. The inspire was an animal before the power was downgraded to save stress on the battery. Also the original inspire would easily fly 4000 ft from home point the v2, about 2800 ft.

Same firmware, only difference is for the pro or raw version. Aircraft all the same but different firmware for the different cameras. Inspire1 and V2 identical as long they have X3 camera.

That's what I thought Cougar. Not sure what R&L is talking about?

Think he is referring to the ongoing downgrade of the speed over time in newer firmwares as compared to early on.

Hello guys , I used to have a phantom 4 until last week and I got a good offer that I couldn't resist and I sold it to buy a better drone, I was looking at inspire one and on eBay I saw one inspire 1 v1 for 1250 and he claims it's in brand new condition ,,, if it is , does it worth 1250 to buy the first inspire or I should go back and buy phantom 4 or I should buy inspire v2 ... please help me .. also let's say if I buy the fist version of inspire 1 can I upgrade the x3 camera to x5 ? Or it has to be be v2 ? Thank you

If you plan on updating to the X5 then be sure to get the Version 2.  It has stronger motors and the Proper Gimbal mount as well.

Why not just spend a little more and get a brand new one with the warranty .  That is what I would do, you can find some sites for under 2 grand for a brand New V2.
I owned a Phantom pro ( similar to the P4 )  And must say I like my Inspire better.  It is much more stable and easier to see in flight , and with the option to upgrade to X5 makes it a versitile  platform.

Has any one upgraded their Inspire 1 V1 motors/Esc, to the Inspire 1 V2 motors/esc
just to get that extra lift capacity when using the X5 camera

I do apologize for the misinformation in the older post. It comes with the X5 bracket, not the extended landing gear.

I am also looking at buying an I1 on ebay. Is there any visually distinct identification for separating the two when receiving it in?

It is not that easy.
Option 1: If it has the rubber damper directly under the frame or the props are mounted via threads, then it is the V1 for sure.
Option 2: It is the V1 but upgraded with new camera plate and new prop mounts later.
Option 3: It is the V2 which comes with the new camera plate and new prop mounts.
Option 4: It is a Inspire T600 Pro which is a V2 plus leg extensions for the large X5 cameras. Sometimes the term Pro use used for an upgraded bird as well.

Hence I would say, if Option 1 you can rule it out for being an V2 immediately. All other cases are likely V2s but there are no visual indicator that proof that. Most sold on ebay are V1 without any modification.

PS: Don't underestimate the value of warranty. Maybe you get an I1 V2 for new for just a little bit more than a used one at ebay?

Check out the prop mount shape and the camera damper plate/rubbers

I think V1 and V2 land gear is the same. Cause I don't see any V3 landing gear while searching for V2 motors and ESC upgrade. My ideal landing gear is like this for having more clearance for X5 camera.

You are pretty much on the money range wise, without any range extenders my v2 starts loosing video at around 2800 feet with the "parabolic" rangers  extenders I'm getting about 1500 feet more. One of the things that disturbed me most about the I1 Pro or v2 was the "limited" range compared to all the reports of 1 mile or more which now I am assuming are being experienced with a v1 OR maybe the X3 camera provides for better range. It's not difficult to realize that there would be a speed/performance penalty because of the larger heavier camera, however the range is really a big penalty if 4000 feet to mile or more reports are actually true.

Mine did not either, I believe my dealer put a "package" together using a v2 kit and adding the X5 to it but forgot to attach the stiletto heels (there was a very low supply of factory Pros at the time) . I was not happy thinking I got dumped only to find out later that the Pro is just a v2 with X5. However for the time I got what I consider a killer deal overall so Im not complaining ...... about that.

I have a 1 month old. Mavic Pro flymore combo, with 11 flights, 3 batteries, 4 bay charger, 7A car charger, regular charger brick, 16 props, including low noise, the carrying bag, a usb to mavic battery charger adapter,.

A guy has an inspire 1 v2 with x3 camera, x5 mount, 2 radios, DJI carrying case, ND filter, 2 Tb-47 batteries and 6 props. Looks mint. Not a scratch on any part, including case. The body says inspire 1 v2 down inside, but looks like the x3 mounting plate is installed. The camera is sealed in a box.

My question is should I do an even trade?
Trade plus cash?
Or am I down grading?
I love the 2+ mile range in congested areas with the mavic, and 20+ minutes of flight time.

I’m reading 12-16 minutes with the x3 attached? And only 2800’ distance. Thanks for all the help in advance

I had both v1 and v2.
However I had sometimes compass problems with the v1 making the inspire 1 uncontrollably go circles during flight. Flying in the same area with the v2, I do not experience this.

When I bought a z3, it would be very glitchy on the v1 as in video feed was very shattered and rough. Same firmware. Whereas with the v2 it was as smooth as x3 and x5. I tested the z3 cam on two v1's and two v2's.. v1 was rough and v2 smooth.

The carbon fiber pattern on the v2 is much stronger which only makes a difference for minor crashes. On operation it makes no difference at all.

Both drones had very similar performance in speed. But the v1 with the 1345S sounded better although I think the sound came from the S model prop as it was a bit thicker when compared to the T.
