I tried the DJI GO app on my S7 Edge. It worked ok, Kept on getting a bunch of pictures downloaded that I didn't download, also drained the battery in half the time as normal. I understand that the S7 Edge is not on the approved list. I fortunately still have my old S5, which is approved and an Apple IPad Air2. DJI GO works flawlessly with both of those. Once I uninstalled the app on the S7 Edge, all went back to normal!

OK tried 2 hours of flying today. S7 edge using DJI GO 4 app on today's 1.3 firmware. No reboots, restarts, disconnects, freezing... all when using the side USB port.

Switch to the bottom USB port and almost straight away disconnects, controller unresponsive, can't get the bird down. Restart app and controller and she automatically lands in front of me. Phew. Tried again, more disconnects. Switched back to side usb port... everything fine again. Not one disconnect.

Weird.

In what port are you connecting and not having any issue? Please show pictures if you can.

hello. I have the same problem with image quality. There is no problem with the phone but with HDMI output board. Please connect TV (via hdmi) and phone (via usb) in the same time. Problem with image quality is only on phone not on hdmi output. I tried on 2 different phones. After 3 min my hdmi out is hot.

Same issue with my Galaxy Note 5. Did not have this issue on the old DJI Go app when flying the Mavic. However with DJI Go 4.0 and plugging into the Phantom 4 Pro controller my phone reboots and my app constantly crashes.

How can one device work and not the other? What about ome software version and not the other?

Surely we can point the finger at Samsung but a good software developer will always find a way to make their application compatible with each ecosystem.

Hi, would you please click "reply" and tell me your Samsung phone's  Android version, which carrier you bought it from?  The DJI Go version (I assume the latest 3.1.0?).

Also, you said "Drained teh battery in half the time", you mean twice as fast as than normal?

Also, what pictures does it download, can you describe? It would be more helpful if you can have a screenshot of these photos or upload them somewhere, like Dropbox and share the link, so we can know where these pictures come from.

You're using Samsung S7 G935F version?  What's your Android System version?   DJI Go app version? And drone's firmware version?

Hi, what's your Samsung S7's version?  Different carriers have different version, like  Galaxy S7 Edge G935F, for example.

Also, what's your phone's Android system version? Your DJI Go's vesion, and your drone's firmware version?

It's been workin right for a month, I kept my fingers crossed that does not start crashing again on every update that they release.

Thanks for the reply, I ran 4 full flights with my T-Mobile S7 and a friends P3S today recording and taking still shots.  I even flew until RTH was activated and never had one issue!!

Seems hit or miss with the Samsung S7 and DJI products.  Im sure it has something to do with multiple things.  Firmware for the S7, Drone and the GO app are so varying in different regions around the world.  I still want to test different Phantom models to see if there are any issues that only appear with specific model/ firmware variation.  So many thing could cause these random issues.  All I can say is the 4 test flights I tried went off without a single issue.   Once again I have the T-Mobile variant of the S7 with latest November security patch installed.  DJI go app 3.1.0. Drone was on firmware 1.5.70.

I had an issue with Samsung Galaxy S7 that it kept restarting while using Litchi or DJI Go because of the firmware (Security: October 2016). However, I decided to update the firmware manually to Security: November 2016 (aka Android version: G930FXXU1BPJG    G930FPHE1BPJ1) and it runs PERFECTLY! No more restart, that's such a big relief for me since I was actually planning to buy a iPad. I know the next firmware will be Nougat 7.1 for Samsung Galaxy S7 so hopefully it will run as smooth as butter with Litchi/DJI Go.
If you haven't got an update for your phone or you're being inpatient, I recommend you visit this website www.samsung-firmware.org and in the model selection section, select SM-G930F and your region. Download an unbranded & latest firmware (G930FXXU1BPJG) and then update it to your phone.

Note that it will take quite a while to finish downloading a firmware due to speed being limited for free users. Also an unbranded firmware is the default firmware that every Samsung Galaxy smartphone comes with, that isn't purchsed from a telco/network. In the future you'll get update faster with the unbranded firmware.

This is disgusting aftersales service, it's been months and still no fix for this issue.  This is samsung's flagship, and the P4 is one of DJI'S best Drones... FFS, fix it or I'll be ditching both and letting everyone know what sort of service I got from my $4500nz investment.

It worked like a charm...i love it very much using samsung s7...

But.. after samsung update... it restart like hell...till now...
No simple roll back the sw....

Latest changes (sw update) is the fault...

It is already months....  it sucks...

Just had the P4 for a few months and got a new phone - the s7.  The phone rebooted and my new P4 landed in the sea, totally burnt out.  I managed to view the last video footage - when the phone rebooted the P4 stopped and went straight down to land in the sea, controls for emergency landing back to homebase didn't respond and because of the phone reboot there are no flight records saved.  Can I get any reimbursement from DJI or Samsung?

Had an update today
Tested using the 'video' which can be used as a test to see if the phone will restart...and it hasnt restarted. Will have to test it in flight now
