I have seen third party devices that claim to be suited to the Inspire although I've seen no examples of their actual use.  If DJI comes out with such a device for the Inspire I am sure many will buy it.  I suppose it was a matter of risk vs benefit vs cost.  And then there was the integration.  In the other multirotors, installation after the fact looks more straighforward, but what do I know.  Let me know if you hear anything new.

Think about how awesome an efficient system would be toward improving relations with the 'safety police' and also with users

Yeah but this system is just about mandatory here in France for most types of operations...  Especially with an aircraft this heavy.  If we can get it "homologué" then everyone would be happy.

We just have to hope that these idiots that are overflying the nuclear bases and the presidential palace don't screw everything up for everyone.

Wow that is expensive. I hope it opens itself up automatically on freefall for that price.

Yeah well I bough this for a project in Switzerland where there are not these kind of issues   It's much more lenient - for the moment at least anyway!

That's a really good looking piece of kit but the price is just shy of what I paid for my whole setup.... Surely that's a typo?

No probably not, they need a propellant and a mechanism for release, they also must integrate it with the inspire. There are similar safety shutes for ultralight aircraft and small planes.

There was NO gimble/camera connected in this demonstration.
At the end of the video, they said "NO DAMMAGE" to the bird.
I'm willing to spend +/-2000 Euro's on this, but i like to see 5 demo's in a row with camera attached.

I totally agree, the video they propose on YouTube is too vague. For flying eye system, it looks like a "mise-en-scene", the Inspire landed exactly on its landing gear onto the floor, with the parachutes properly put in the trees? Seems incredible to me.

That aircraft was coming down way too fast for there not to be any damage, and it conveniently landed on its landing gear !  If there was a camera on it it wouldn't be working now.

What about the debris that was ejected from it when the parachute capsules initiated. (are these small explosive devices ?)  That would be construed as dropping items from a height and probably frowned upon by the CAA in the UK.

Yeah, it all looked a bit stage managed at the end of the there.....  Lack of detail in the video to gives little credibility to the system.

Check out Opale Paramodels Parachute Kit for DJI Inspire 1

http://www.opale-paramodels.com/ ... ji-inspire-1-detail

Was announced a few weeks ago and here it is! As usual with Opale, the release is performed by a servomotor. The price is correct at 199€. Worth a look! ;)

This Opale system looks interesting. I'm concerned that it will block the view of the camera when doing 360 panos.

Also the site says: Required and not included: Transmission Module ( TX / RX ) with PPM Output

So do you need another radio system to trigger this manually?
