1.6.2.10 is the latest osmo FW, this FW has fixed some osmo drift, but not all of it, if you do upgrade just make sure to upgrade using the SD card method.
Another FW upgrade for the osmo who nows when it will be!

Yes, it will reduce the drifting. But it's suggested to lock the gimbal for best result.

Hi, I have just purchased the Osmo + and I am having this same issue. I have locked the gimbal but there seems to be no lock for the camera body and it gets pushed around by the wind. Is there a way to fix the camera body as well as the gimbal lock? I bought this to shoot videos and at the moment it's useless for this?

It'll still have the same issues with the wind blowing the camera, plus I need the camera off the ground. I might try and fix it in place with tape. Really annoying that this is the case

I did but unfortunately, the wind moves the gimble so it sways in long time lapses. Had to revert to DSLR for timelapse.

The base is useless unfortunately. I purchased it with the OSMO and wish I hadn't, I have found no use for it as my normal tripod is far sturdier than the OSMO one, so the two parts (base and OSMO tripod) have become redundant.

I think they mean that even being locked the camera has a small ability to turn, like about 1-2 mm. I had this problem and I'm planning to use a scotch or rubber tape to fix it tightly next time.
