Hi there,
I preordered Mavic Pro, but I am courios about the slowmotion  96 FPS in 1080p.
Will it be full size and full quality, or will it be cropped and downgraded quailty like on OSMO /or phantom 4 as I heard/? (that was on of the reasons why i sell my osmo).

Thanks for the answer.

From what I understand...   When they say 1080P they mean each frame will be recorded at full 1080 by 1920 resolution at 96fps.

And it can shoot 720P at 120 FPS.

Yeah, the same was OSMO - 1080p recording with 120 FPS. But finaly when you switch to slowmotion, there is a crop (smaller size of chip) and then digital upsampling to 1080p. So technicaly it is 1080p, but the quallity is shity.
So I want know if the 96 fps on Mavic will be ok, or same failure as Osmo.

Good question.

I assume it will be full 1080P without any crop.

If DJI says 1080P at 96fps...  It will be FULL 1080P at 96fps.

Hope I am right!

I recorded a bunch of footage today at the beach. Looks like all recordings on the Mavic came out in slow motion. I haven't checked yet, but I'm pretty sure I have my settings on 1080 @ 96fps. I don't recall anything specifying slow motion, but I'm guessing that's what did it.

The image quality is crap at higher frame rates because of the method used to down sample from 4K. 1080/30 is fine but anything above that and you get something that looks like it came from a 90s video game.

Actually I noticed that choosing 1080p 96fps occupies less memory on the sd card than 60fps

Wind Junkie, do you have something to upload in 96 FPS also?
Think your FPS 60 Sequence (in an other Thread) was really good.

Ok, thanks very nice of you.

Check it out, 1080p @ 96fps, raw file loaded directly to YouTube. Since I'm still new, I didn't do a good job of focusing/forgot to focus.

Just to make it sure, it's NOT criticism towards your Video Wind Junkie. Think you did a good job at a nice location.

I am slightly puzzled because your image quality @ 96fps looks way better than the one I recorder @60fps.

Perhaps you didn't focus? I need to remember to focus my shots or they come up a bit fuzzy/unfocused from time to time

There is a big difference between out of focus and poor image quality. The problem in 1080/ 60fps is widely reported. Maybe @96fps image quality is better. I will just have try it out myself.

At about 6:40 into the video you can really see the h.264 codec creating the anti-aliasing in the sand to the right of the red beach tent. Looks like the sand is moving. Or is that just YouTube compression kicking in?

Hi Blaze,

Hopefully this article will help. You have to scroll down the article quite a bit, but discussion of the menu and settings you are interested in are covered.

Today I recorded on the mavic at 1080p 96fps and everything came out on slow motion. That was not what I intended to do. Can someone please tell me if when I select 1080p 96fps that makes the drone film everything in slow motion?

The Mavic Pro only records in slow mo with the camera set at 1080@96fps. Similar to the way the iPhone only records in slow mo with 1080@240fps

osmo has 1080p at 120fps? I think the most my osmo+ has is 1080p at 60fps.
