Hey! Does any one know or have any idea when geo no drone zones will be able to unlock through dji website? I preordered Mavic and realised that I'm in no drone fly zone next to the airport. I know that P4 has function to unlock areas for 3 days when you register on website. Mavic hasn't. I was told from dji that they are working on it. I'm a newbie so not sure how quick they work on things and functions. Is it going to be few weeks or it can be year or so?

As they said in email to me. P4 has it, Mavic not yet and they are working on it. That's a bit disappointing when newest drone doesn't have simple functions like this when the one before has...

The Mavic will have the same GEO limitations as the P4.

So that means it will be possible to unlock areas?

Kind Regards

You can check here, https://www.dji.com/fly-safe/category-mc?www=v1

You may need to connect to Internet for DJI Go to load the map.

Not if you live next to an airport no! If you are within a 'red' zone on DJI's NFZ map then you would not be able to fly (without appropriate permissions in place from both ATC and a bespoke Go App version for the flight(s) in question).

If you live THAT close to an airport you shouldn't even be thinking about flying there!

Correct, to be able to fly in a red restricted zone you need authorization from that airport and DJI to authorize you to use the DJI Unlimited GO app for that flight.

DJI Ken.

I have a question. I live near a small airport about 3 miles from my house. I know I can't fly without permission from the tower but would the Mavic pro be able to get fly around my house below tree level without issues.  I really want to do a hover shot low level of my holiday light display this year.  I'm new to drones sorry if this seems like a basic question.

I downloaded the FAA before you fly app. It says 'i must notify the airport in my zone before flight will Mavic be able to fly in this area or will it not even fly tree level around my house

It's B  this is where I'm located near the airport.  As noted I'm only trying to fly around my house below tree level

Really hope DJi enforce the 'No-Fly' and check somehow remotely with future software/firmware updates. Once the implementation of registration is in place and all Drones are registered we can then start to relax rules a little. But living next to one of the UKs largest ariports I'm happy to get off my f**king a$$ and travel to fly so seriously ....

... keep the sky safe, or we'll lose the right to fly people.

I live in a red zone.  I think I should be allowed to fly my Mavic in my house for testing purposes before I travel to far-away places to fly for real.  Unfortunately, the GPS signals are so strong, even in my house, that I cannot do so.
