This wasn't with the Phantom's built-in camera, right? Because this is also pointing up, which the Phantom can't do (can the Inspire?)

Do these images have to be hosted with Google or could you host them on a normal shared-hosting website?

Certainly very impressive and fun to play with. I'd have LOVED to have this on my recent trip to Iceland!

Glad you like it! The lower half of the image is shot with the Phantom and the upper half with a DSLR with a fisheye. The two resulting panoramas are then brought together to make a full 360 by 180.

Hosting is a bit on an issue - you need to find a site that knows how to render interactive panoramas. Skypixel and Google Maps are my preferences at the moment but the downside with Google Maps is that the images have to be attached to an existing place marker. Flickr can host them too but their viewer has issues at the zenith/nadir - I've got some images at https://www.flickr.com/photos/gdavidson/albums/72157667776558935 that gives you an idea of how flickr handles them.
