So some of these superpower superstar vloggers who were entrusted with these Mavics while the rest of us unwashed peasants are forced to wait and actually PAY for our drones need to get with the dang program and do some meaningful reviews of:

1.   Range test --   I've seen not a one of them do a range test
2.   The bag --  Can we get a video that is a comprehensive tour/review of the bag please?
3.   Detailed overview and review of the Remote and the on screen interface on the phone and remote


I mean they all get on their trendy little motorized skate boards or scooters with their tight pants on and hipster music -- and none of them are doing detailed reviews the way I need them to be done.    They are basically popping in preppy non-copyright techno music and rolling around streets with shallow 'it's AWESOME BRO!' summaries.   

Get with it YouTube millennial stars!   :p

Heck I don't know whether to be meh on the bag or not.   All I've seen is 2 seconds of Casey Nestat tossing it aside.   There might be more coolness to it but we'd never know!

They should also be made to pay for the drones.....hahahahha

I'm pretty sure my bag is going straight on eBay when it arrives. Unless it folds out into another drone, it just looks crap. I'll just stick it in a nice regular backpack that completely meets my needs (ability to store laptop etc)

It's puzzling a range test was not conducted especially with the claim of 4.3 mile range.

Also, the holy grail for drones is the 1 hour flight time. That needs to be the next innovation.

We already know flying over the sea works for long range, but what about a reviewer actually testing it in more wi-fi busy conditions ?

For the UK there is no point in a range test as the rules are very clear on being no further than visual line of sight and able to recognise orientation so that appropriate avoidance action can be taken, which in the case of the so small Mavic will be about 250m (750ft) max
I have already ordered one so don't see this as a negative as it will complement my Inspires and Phantoms for quick property photos and recreational snapshots.
Oh - and I agree with your comments entirely on the "cool" bloggers such as Casey N who flies illegally and recklessly over central London and then has the audacity to post his illegal flying all over FB.

No way will you see the Mavic and it's orientation at 250m , not without binoculars.

The OP makes a good point with one reviewer being a DB (where's the drone - I don't know)

I' d want to know more about durability, can the folding arms be an issue with durabilty, especially the rear that rotate 180 degrees - can the motor wiring be comp. over time, etc.?

Really looking forward to some more technical reviews. The bag is a load of rubbish (and overpriced!) Will transport it in my messenger bag when i commute to work on my skateboard. Being a youtube Vlogger, i need to also know how durable its going to be in everday use, especially when i have to litrally just throw it staight into my bag with other camera gear etc. Is the SD flap durable when i need to constantly upload to Youtube? Vlogging can be hard on a Drone as it gets used a LOT (and abused) and thats one of my concernes.

The bag is overpriced but it looks pretty decent to be honest. I'm looking forward to giving it a go. It's supposed to swallow up 3 batteries, remote, drone and charge gong units. For a less regular user this sounds perfect to me

Range tests are still very helpful to determine how strong and reliable the signal is going to be.

All music has a copyright unless (even?) when released under Creative Commons. I know this was not a constructive post. Just wanted to get in there somewhere. I agree though. Many posts so far don't have much substance, but the user base is very small, even with the number of early adopters.

Unfortunately I fear the Mavic will bring a new wave of individuals going to Maplin/Argos, purchasing one and then going "Whoooosh, look how far/high this thing goes man - Casey PooTube did it so I'm gonna fly further than him.......dude"

The sooner much tighter regulations come in the better - unfortunately, in the UK, there is nobody to police them !!

This review was interesting as the user got good close ups of the drone and controller but it is in Dutch and the youtube subtitles are a little off

Also the guys at Flite Test show how agile the drone is

I don't understand why DJI hands these out to idiots who are just looking for more hits on there u tube channels, give on to me and I'll do an actual review minus the fluff.

Really , we all know that any drone will fly over open water, even my phantom 4 will fly 5000 ft over water but on land it go about1200 feet.

Can you only 1500m over water with you P4? And o lay 400m over land? That's awful. In CE. Mode I can get 4,500 metres which is over 12,000 feet over water and about rolling 2km over land though I think I could go further

The phantom 4 that I received has never had anything close to advertised range. Fortunately I don't fly very far.

That's a real pity. Strange as well. I hadn't similar issues with a P3A and eventually got Jessops to take it back (they were very helpful) despite DJI refusing to acknowledge the issue (they had all the flight data which showed the range issues)

Been saying the same myself.

It comes down to DJI getting very cheap advertising.

Rather than giving potential customers informative and detailed reviews that answer the customers queries.

I actually enjoy Casey Nestat and iJustine from a pure entertainment standpoint.   My issue is that SOMEONE out there could do a detailed review of the items I mentioned.

Ya, just remember the Mavic is by far DJI's most popular aircraft and supposedly there's already been hundreds of thousands of orders.
AND, China just had a holiday that lasted 7 or 8 days.
