Where are the updates for Android? It has been several weeks since the release of the device and we've seen updates to iOS. I just keep seeing people post any day now but that means nothing.

Guess I will return this now then if there isn't a fix. Oh well It had potential. I won't be repurchasing it. It would be nice to have customer service reps out of the US or other places for quicker responses.

I returned it a few days back... Heres why...

I looked at the support that is offered for other older products .. and it gave me a fairly good idea of what I can expect for the OSMO Mobile from DJI Support.

We were told back on 18-19 Sept that the new version will be released by end of September which will fix major issues reported., but nothing was released... .. and we were again told that the update would be out by 8-oct...yet, nothing came out

Even if they release an update, I don't expect them to fix many of the issues reported here. If it was one or two issues, I would have been ok., but as of this writing, the app is terrible and does not even provide some bare essential functionality.

It shows inverted preview images on nexus 5X!!!.. forget LiveTracking, 4k, timelapse limits, slow motion, pathetic image quality of pano shots,... and so on.... by the time they resolve this, they will release a newer version of this product Mobile+ or something crazy like. Its never ending....

I figured out that it would be a never ending saga... and a waste of time.

Glad I Returned it back.

I'm still waiting on the update for my Galaxy S7 so I can record in 4K in the DJI GO app.  I know I can use the native app but then the buttons are useless.  I was planning on ordering the Mavic but if the OSMO isn't working with my phone then why bother spending even more money on a Mavic.  It all seemed awesome, but then reality kicked in.

Yes, it will be available in GooglePlay store, you could also download it by scaning QR code on DJI official website.

Hello Dji team,
i have downloaded the new Android Version 3.0.0(500) on my Galaxy S7 edge! i connect it with my osmo mobile and i think, it is a joke! No 4K resolution, no settings for framerate...nothing! I dont see a diefference between the new 3.0.0 and the old 2.9.1 Dji Go App!

In the App under "Me" and "Settings" i can see the version 3.0.0(500)!

Please tell me, that this is not the final app for android users! Otherwise i give back my osmo mobile to my dealer!

Initially got excited to see an update for us Android users...

Then I installed it and guess what. No 4K resolution, and storage settings option looks like it's in developers mode and is in Chinese!

What the hells going on?

Hello all. Using Osmo Mobile with Samsung S7 Edge. Updated to firmware to Version 500. My micro sd is Samsung 256GB, Evo+. From the instructions, I created a folder "DJI" with sub folder "Camera" in the sd card. For those who don't understand Mandarin, please create "DJI" Folder in your sd card first. Then launch DJI Go, select Camera in Settings then select Storage Location. Stroll to the bottom and select the grey out bar. From there on, select SD Card and "DJI" folder.

Now after I had done the above, when I pressed the record button on Osmo Mobile, I got the following error,

"Cannot record video. Allow DJI GO to access your Mic."
"Start record failed! Please check your phone's storage."

No idea how to resolve the above error. Please advise.
At the same time, there is still no 4K format available.

I know DJI is trying their best....it's a good device..just
that the software is rather incomplete. Thanks!

Only limited phone with 2.91 will support 4K, most doesn't.   (My Meizu Pro5 does)

Seems only S7E released in China is 4K-supported for now,  I'm still verifying this, some issues in the code, we'll patch this up very soon.

I managed to select micro sd as storage but I kept getting this error,

"Cannot record video. Allow DJI GO to access your Mic."
"Start record failed! Please check your phone's storage."

I believe he meant that when he select "Storage Setting", there is a guide written in Mandarin...need to stroll down at the end and hit the grey box to get into storage setting location.

I am still having problem with video recording saving to Micro SD. But for still picture, it can save directly to Micro SD.
Tech support said it's a new issue and will look into it. As for 4K recording, they are talking to Samsung.

Dji.. we need this app finishing!

I'm a loyal customer of DJI products and I'm all for cutting edge technology but this substandard releasing of software that's not fit for purpose is embarrassing for what is now a multi national company!
I'm a lifelong user of Canon cameras and I wouldn't expect this rubbish from them and to be fair they'd not release stuff unfinished.
I've recently got myself an Osmo Mobile and I love it. However the DJI app is hopeless unless using it for the active track feature, and that's why my good results are coming entirely from third party / native apps and post processing.

I hope this situation gets fixed soon or I'm another customer that WON'T be ordering a Mavic because I'm worried it'll have the same issues. Once again this is quite simply embarrassing!

I am having exactly the same problems with my galaxy s7 and osmo mobile when changing the recording directory to the sd card.
pictures will record to the sd card fine but not videos when it trys to capture audio..

"Cannot record video. Allow DJI GO to access your Mic."
"Start record failed! Please check your phone's storage."
and no 4k video ?

It throws you to the app setup menu and when you go into the dji app the permissions are on for the mic. It works fine videoing to phone memory just doesnt record to sd card.
Another thing I noticed was that if you unclick the mic permission it says this app is for an older android version and can cause problems ??
I have the latest version of android 6.0.1 and the latest dji app v3.0.0 (504)
