Will the Phantom 4 battery chargers work with the Mavic's batteries and standard charging hub?

No.  Phantom 4 batteries are completely different and operate at a completely different voltage than Mavic batteries.

No they will not, but you can get the Mavic advanced charging hub and you can use the P4 charger (11 watts) and it will charge all the batteries faster.

Ken...  I thought the P4 charger is designed to charge the Phantom 4's  LiPo 4S battery which is rated at 15.2 volts.  Also the Phantom 4 charger is rated at 100 watts. Not 11.

The Mavic Battery is a LiPo 3S rated at 11.4 volts.

Are you really sure the 4S charger for the Phantom 4 would work with a Mavic 3S battery?  I suppose the charger might be smart enough to re-adjust it's self to charge a 3S battery but I would be surprised.

Correct, the P4 is 4s and Mavic 3s.
It's the Mavic advanced charging hub that will allow this which is not available or any specs on it yet.

That's why you will have to use the advanced charging hub.

Supposedly it will fast charge one battery and then top off / slow charge another at the same time. Just making a guess, but if the P4 charger is set up with 4 independent channels (for charging each of the P4 battery's 4 cells in parallel) that means you can use 3 of them to fast charge one Mavic battery and the 4th to do the final top off on the other.

There is no physical difference in the connector from the P4 to Mavic, they are the same.

Thank you for clarifying this.  Even though DJI-Ken says the connectors are the same... The Phantom 4 charger is designed to charge a 4 cell battery.  The Mavic uses a 3 cell battery with much lower mah ratings as wel.  So it seems likely there would be compatibility issue even if the connectors do fit.

Sorry if I didn't explain it well. Yes there will be a compatibility issue, you need to use the P4 charger for your P4 and the Mavic charger for you Mavic since they are different voltages.
The Mavic Advanced CHARGING HUB can use the P4 charger so the 4 batteries connected to it will charge faster. It will still supply the correct voltage to the Mavic batteries, it does it at 100 watts instead of the 50 watts that the Mavic charger is capable of.

I see...  So the Advanced charging hub can adapt the Phantom 4 charger to work with Mavic Batteries.  But if you try to plug a Phantom 4 charger directly into a Mavic battery "bad things" happen.  Got it.

(It's important to be specific...  Otherwise people will be plugging in Mavic batteries directly into Phantom 4 chargers and destroying batteries.)

You guys should have made the connectors different, many people that own Phantom 4 chargers are going to plug them into Mavic batteries since they fit.  The advanced charging hub isn't available for sale, not even listed online with any information for anyone to know about it other than if they read the FAQ and even then it's not clear it's an actual upcoming product.  A lot of confusion around this topic and this is likely goign to lead to a lot of damaged batteries if you don't clarify it more prominently.

Actually the connectors will not fit into each other. Although they look the same I just tried and the Mavic plug is just a tad shorter in length.
SO the P4 charger will not fit on a Mavic battery and a Mavic charger will not fit on a P4 battery.

Hi Steve,
Sorry I do not know when it will come online in the Mavic section.

So just to clarify, the Mavic charging hub that came with the Fly more combo package is not capable of using the P4 charger with 100 watts?

Only the Advanced charging hub ( which is not out yet) can be used with the P4 power supply?

I have noticed the Mavic controller battery drains fairly fast compared to the Inspire or Phantom remotes.

Not sure what your asking, are you asking if the Mavic can handle a 4s battery?
It's designed for a 3s battery and you cannot use anything else.

Or since this is a charging thread, did you mean if it could handle a charge rate at 4c ?
The Mavic can only be charged with it's supplied charger or the hub, or advanced hub.

Hi Ken
That would be more than enough flight time and the fly more combo comes with a car charger if you need to get some more flight time in.

I flew my Mavic and Inspire 1 today.. (good day) but cold.  I noticed if the Mavic camera is pointed into the sun the obstacle avoidance warning pops up.... kind of caught me off guard... I was at about 100 feet and the beeping happened, I moved the camera and everything was fine again :0)

Yes, that will happen in the sun, if you are flying high with no structures at the same height, you can disable the obstacle avoidance so the warnings do not keep going off.

Hi Ken
To be honest, the manual for the charging hub has really small print! I did not even read it at all. I plugged in my new batteries and remote and it worked perfectly.

So thank you for the update and I understand you can use the P4 charger (power supply) with the standard Mavic charge hub... very cool

I understand that it charges one battery at a time starting with the lowest battery first. This makes sense because it only has enough power rating for one battery at a time anyway!

Is it true that the Mavic batteries simply take a 13.05 volt up to 8 amp source, and the battery manages the CC/CV charge? If so, it would be simple to make a charger to use in the car that does not shut down at 12.6 volts. This shutoff feature renders my car charger useless unless I am driving.

Hey Ken

Some have been reporting rapid battery drain using the iPhone 6 / 6s while using the new DJI Go App 4.0  can you say anything about this issue?
In my case, the iPhone 7 works great with the Mavic and Go App 3.1  normal operations and battery works great for me.
I was also wondering if you can have both Go App 3.1 and 4.0 on your device at the same time or coexist. I would like to experiment with the new App without getting rid of my old one

Thank you

Rich,
Yes you can have both on your device. The 4.0 may take a bit more processing power to run and that may be why.
Feel free to test the drain with both apps. Maybe fly around for 20 minutes with your phone at 100% and see what it is after you land. Then charge your phone back up and repeat with the other app for 20 minutes and see what the % is.
