Hello. Im trying to use the pan and tilt functions on the x3 via althe app or a remote. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? We have the osmo mounted in a place where the thumb controller is unreachable.

You can control where the Osmo points by touching the screen on your phone.  By dragging your finger, you can accomplish pretty smooth pans.

Oh thats awesome although im having trouble figuring out how to do that..is there a certaim setting or mode that needs to be turned on to do it?

For my Osmo x3, I just hold my finger on the screen for a second or so and the Osmo points to where I'm touching.  I don't recall doing anything special beyond that.
