Hi guys I'm experiencing very Choppy video on playback.  I'm a total Newby to Phantoms and I've just bought a phantom 4,I have taken a few videos on a few of the camera settings in 4K and some of the other video settings at 30 frames per second and 24 also but on playback my videos are very choppy. I am using a iMac to view my videos and an iPad mini 4 for my monitor for my phantom. I understand that both of these use QuickTime for their playback could you tell me if this is a codec issue do I need to download any codecs what am I doing something wrong ?

The actual video will be fine.
Are you trying to play if direct from teh SD card or your hard drive.
If it's still choppy coming from your hard drive, it may be that your computer isn't up to handling 4K video.
Try shooting 1080p video and see how that goes.

Please follow labroides's advice.
Check the original videos in the SD card.
If the videos in the SD card are choppy as well, please upload the videos to dropbox and send me the link.
I'll help to check it.

Hi Lab

I think you may be right I just taken a couple of videos on 1080p and they are a lot smoother,I think this may be the problem that my iMac can't handle the 4K resolution etc, thanks for your help and information I'm really greatful

Same issue...using 5k iMac.  Tested at both full rez and 2048 (my operating scale).  Raw .mov file is stuttering.  Please advise.

When exporting try changing the Time Interpolation to Optical Flow. This seems to clean up the choppiness of the 4k footage coming from our Mavic 2 Pro
