It enables you to have more than the 8 channels that we are restricted to in the 2.4ghz frequency.

Bought a brand new Phantom 4. It had to be sent in for DJI repair out of the box due to poor video signal. They replaced the camera and said there was something wrong with the board. Just got it back. It has the exact same problem. I've spent over sox hours on the phone with DJI tech problem solving without success. Lost 9 days while the unit was being repaired. I've tried every thing under the sun and the only thing that works slightly is to lower image transmission all the way down and pick the best custom channel you can find out of the eight (tried installing the DJI config to see all 32 channels but that didn't work and only have eight still...apparently the latest firmware might prevent you from hacking to 32 channels). This is by far the worst product I've ever purchased in my life...
Bought a brand new Osmo too....that just got shipped out for repair also straight out of the box because it can't connect to the Osmo network which would not be a problem if you could just use a cable!!!!!!!!!! No, not a option to hook it up with a cable.....
So both my brand new purchases from DJI had to be sent in for repair straight out of the box....the Phantom was just returned after repair and it's still not working properly. Worst products I have ever bought!!!!!!!!!

i've the 32 channels hack and works perfectly! I'm using iOS

The mod from the video link doesn't work but go to this thread and follow Donnies revised links. They work on the latest (as of Nov 28th 2016) versions of iOS, Go App and P4

I've managed to get this to work on my Nexus 7 on DJI GO 4, no luck on my iPad. Can you tell me where the revised links are?

If you are using a Mavic of P4P, the transmission system has changed dramatically so that there is now frequency hopping across a range of frequencies. The '32 Ch' system no longer applies.

So you're saying that there is ZERO benefit to doing this hack on the P4P?? Isn't more channels still more channels??

Also, is it even possible to do this hack on a P4P+ controller?

I'm not saying there is no benefit.

I don't know with respect to the P4P as I haven't tried the hack on this platform. It works well in the Inspire 1

i've grown quite fond of the Litchi app.
With that i can easily pick a channel, and have the multiple channels available to me

Yes. I have done the Chanel hack, have p4 with latest firmware,using iPad air2,  had 1 incident where the gimbal went haywire and locked up. I took off in auto mode and switched to custom ,ch32 about 30 secs later the gimbal went crazy. Not sure if tbis was because of the hack or just coincidence, did RTH and powered down,& then restart and all was good after that. But haven't tried the custom Chanel's since. Been to cold

Does anyone know how to UN-DO this hack?apparently the files ends up changing the drone, not the app! So it is Permanent. At least for me.

I have 2 issues that could be caused by it
1. i have no info for interference in the channel matrix - either all channels show full red bar, or no bars at all.
2. i cannot switch between 2.4 and 5.8, it is stuck at 5.8, even when i change region and select custom.

If you UNinstall the App and
Then Reinstall it, should take care of the additional channels not showing or loading.

Actually, i have taken an old Android phone, installed DJI GO4 for the first time and opened it - it shows 29 channels on 5.8GHz. That is more than normal, isnt it?

To me that means the change went into the copter software and appears to be permanent. But not sure.

Moreover, i cannot switch to 2.4GHz which I desperately want to do for better range .... only option i have under Custom is 5.8Ghz ... I can barely fly 300m without picture constantly braking up... :/

Or can anyone confirm that uninstalling the app will reverse the channel hack on their copter?

It in no way alters your drone.  It does not "upload" into the drone or alter anything.  The "hack" is merely a text file.  You can skip over the "hack" by simply using Litchi.  You are having a coincidence.  Also - yes, uninstalling the app and making sure it uninstalled deletes the file.  You can also manually delete it in itunes.

Litchi already has the channels unlocked.  There is no "hack" needed.

Litchi ? but full version, which I should pay for?

Looking into this myself - and just adding what I found - it only affects the Video Channel apparently - the control (joysticks etc) are unaffected and still automatically controlled by DJI Go app.
