It seems that DJI is releasing a brand new camera, the  Z30 (http://www.dji.com/zenmuse-z30) How "afordable" will it be?

There is no price tag on it yet - but I am guessing that " if you have to ask the price you can not afford it ". It is not going to be cheap I suppose. This is a camera aimed at those who are in the inspection business.

My Z3 sux with no apparent fixes in sight.  Won't be spending more on junk.

Is it really only 2.1MP?

I'm primarily using Inspire for inspection work - looking over this spec I'm not seeing much to get excited about.
In practical application this will have limited use but might suit some cases where the customer is after video but hazards or other considerations demand the UAV is kept well away.

For inspections, video is great for providing the overall situation but I've found that customers always want high resolution still images of the detail.
At 2.1Mp the images won't satisfy that requirement.

The Z3 looks good, but is unfinished and buggy.

I waiting for someone to film the end of an airport runway since the pilot can stay out of the "no-fly" zone.

Maybe the resolution of 2.13MP is a typo and should be 21.3MP? At least I hope so, then it would be a great camera.

This is designed for the Matrice and Lightbridge 2.... does not sound like it is for the Inspire 1..

They need to get the bugs out of the Z3 and make these customers happy again, before releasing another....

Nope - it's just a HD sensor.
