Hi there, first post here.

Before I start I will say that I have thoroughly researched this issue but none of the fixes seem to relate to my issue.

Basically I have had no camera issues with my Inspire and standard issue X3 camera, however I purchased a brand new 2nd X3 camera with the intention of modifying it with an NIR lens (I work in agriculture), however I unboxed the new X3, hooked it up and get the message 'no image transmission signal' and obviously no image, swap back the original X3 and it is absolutely fine. The strange thing is that all the camera functions of the new camera seem to work, I can tilt it, spin it, take photos/videos (which look perfect on taking them off the SD card) and when I move my hand in front of the camera all the ISO numbers etc change so all in all a working camera. I decided it must be an issue with the camera so sent it back to the company I purchased it from and received another one and guess what, exact same thing with the replacement!

So what have I tried:

1. Downgrading the AC firmware to 1.08.01.00 in the hope that updating it back to 1.09.01.30 would solve it
2. This won't work when using the SD card with the downgrade in new X3 camera, sounds like it starts to try the downgrade but after 10 secs just has a constant D........
3. Trying this same downgrade with the original X3 works fine
4. Camera verison of both original and new X3 cameras is 1.8.1.00
5. RC is version 1.7.40

Here is the log from the hidden file, you will see lots of 'need updrade' lines but I can't work out how to get it to upgrade (original camera log has none of these 'need upgrade' lines)

Please help someone!

What was the new camera firmware before you started to make changes?

Try downgrading the remote to 1.6 and see if the new X3 camera will show the image.
usually, 08 / 15 is a bad sign that the camera is not updated correctly and would need to go back to DJI for reprogramming...

The only things that I could see or comment on from your information

Thanks Rich, I didn't check TBH but I don't think the new camera has been able to do any updates (both the one that I sent back and the replacement), I find it strange that this issue has been on two brand new cameras straight out the box.

According to your update log file, the video transmission module is corrupted.
I'd suggest you to get in touch with our tech support via support.eu@dji.com and send it in for evaluation.

Do you happen to have the RC transmitter on when you are updating the aircraft ?  That is ONE cause that can lead to the     0800 and 1500  "Device Not Detected "  message .

More than likely must be sent in because the Video module is either corrupted ( More than likely ) or Broken .

Let me know if you had the RC transmitter on during the Aircraft update .

I concur with Mindy that unfortunately it's an internal issue that would require for the unit to be sent in for service. The Europe Support team would get you up and running again in no time.

Ok thanks, have emailed the european support team so will see what they say. I am still at a loss why two brand new cameras when plugged straight into my Inspire (no updates taking place) could have this fault

Parts of the what provides video transmission is in the aircraft itself as well, so it can be an issue with the craft itself that's effecting both.

Ok thanks, have emailed the european support team so will see what they say. I am still at a loss  ...

When you first plugged in the  new X3 camera did it have any video at all ? NO you said correct ?   Do you know what version came on  the X3  originally ? ( the new one you just received not the original )

If it had no video at all in the beginning it may have been on a much older version of  FW Like perhaps 1.2  then you would need to load it with 1.3 before jumping to 1.9.  It should have worked out of the box IF 1.8 was on it .

Just find it odd like you that 2 cameras did this and dont want it to happen a 3rd time for you.

When you get the next one plug it in straight away and see what versionit is on first , if on say 1.2 then you MUST load 1.3 on it first to go to 1.9

I find it odd that the company you bought it from shipped it with 1.8 already on it.  If you buy another RC transmitter for example  , quite often it has very old FW loaded on it and No where near the most current one .
I am also looking at my 1.9 file ( Hidden ) and find quite a few differences, like you said , they dont match the other camera , this is telling me that this version may be  older and not compatible ,   I am not 100% sure on this .  But if you loaded this new camera and checked the go app and it said version 1.8 for the camera  than I am at a loss .

**** I just double checked my data from 1.8 and compared to yours , that is what it came with originally .  It may just have been serendipity that you have 2 that have failed like this .

sorry , I tried  to find the solution .....

Thanks Donnie, I didn't check to be honest as I wasn't that versed on the subject until I was forced to do a bit of research, it does say 1.8 when hooked up now but interestingly I noticed the following today:

I downgraded the AC to the last version (I'll call 1.8) with the 1.8 bin file on the original working camera (kind of by mistake really as I left it on the SD by mistake), but anyway I started and stopped the drone a few times and there were no update noises due to it having already completed. So I then try the new camera on with the same SD card in it and it starts making update noises for a few minutes then fails with the constant D..... noise. Therefore my thoughts are why would this happen as the AC was already updated, was it the camera trying to update itself then fail? Could the Go app be saying the camera is FW 1.8 when it is actually older?

Thanks Donnie, I didn't check to be honest as I wasn't that versed on the subject until I was forc ...

The noise you heard was the attempt to update the new camera , but it wont with line 0800 and 1500 being corrupted , I wrote a whole long post about the 0800 and 1500 error codes, I know them well.

Do you think they shipped you back the SAME camera on accident ?   I am not sure who you are dealing with but if like a hobby center can you have them test before sending it out ?

The app is pretty good about having the correct version on there , BUT when you get the next one , I would look and see before you do anything as to what update is on it .

Also I feel that 1.9 on the AC and 1.7 on the RC has been the worst updates yet.  If I were you I would order another camera that supposedly comes with 1.8.  I would then rollback the  Aircraft and Camera to 1.8 and rollback the RC to 1.6, to me this is the best update out there without any glitches  in it .

sorry you are having such trouble , I do find it VERY odd that 2 cameras would have the same problem .

It is such an easy fix too, if  dji would allow rollbacks like the transmitter this would be an easy fix .

good Luck and let me know how it works out
