What's everyone's max distance they have reached from their home point

I'll comfortably do about 3 miles on a fairly regular basis with my P3Pro's. Furthest so far is 4.77 miles.

I think it landed at 6%. The last few minutes were a fight to get it back. The battery was retired after that flight.

Little confused here, you flew 25,ooo ft out and still had 62% battery ? which battery mod do you have then ? the figures dont add up. Why is the battery percentage in red indicating crictical battery at 62 %

Tech,

The numbers are the numbers. As you can see the flight is straight out from HP. Perfect conditions and no wind. The battery is warning because it's calculating my distance to return home and is alerting that I may not have enough battery to make it back. The numbers do add up. I'm flying a P3Pro on FW v1.4 with Litchi (pre-SDK 3). The only modification to my setup is a Windsurfer. After you've spent the many hours necessary, planning, waiting for the perfect conditions, executing and aborting countless long distance runs, feel free to come back and question my numbers.

After a re-read of my previous post. Sorry for the harsh response. A lot of work goes into doing these runs and my equipment is constantly at risk. I haven't been doing these kinds of runs anymore with all of the new regulations. There were many of us on a different site trying to test the limits of these birds and their systems. The modded guys were far surpassing anything I could do but I'm still #19 on the "leaderboard", last time I checked.

I can't be certain where I originally purchased mine but they are all over eBay. The one that looks the most like the ones I have are in the link I'm including. They seem to be the most expensive as well. Mine have the clips at the bottom of the antenna.

This is a spot on response in terms of how you do it. Prep and planning and weather have a big part. When I fly, I'm always doing the math of how much battery I've got left compared to how far I am on whether I can make it back with the wind at xx speed. And in those terms, that flight was near perfect my man. I tried 25k on stock battery on my phantom 3 last year and couldn't make it back, had to make a remote landing by the water .. that's when I moved to external batteries.

Yeah, I got very lucky on that one. I'm sure I looked like a 5 year old that had to pee as I brought her in, the adrenaline was pumping. I'm not even sure how many flights I had to abort to finally get that done. It was kind of bittersweet though. I know I'm not getting any further on my stock setup, so all of the "attempts" are over!

I ordered, and am very impressed, with:

From Amazon.  $17.  I am sure they all work equally well.  It is simple reflective physics.  There were places that due to trees i just could not go .25 miles and now can fly easily. Although with Litchi, it is almost a moot point, since it flies a "mission" weather in contact or not!   

Isnt this stuff illegal? I talked to a youtuber who made a video testing the range and going 4 miles with his phantom and he told me he got a call and a warning from the fsa sky police.

Wow! I'm impressed! I get jumpy when I fly farther than 1 KM. I can't see it any longer, a white drone against a gray sky. It's often cloudy here on the west coast. Technically it is still in line of sight (rules in Canada) Just can't see it.
