Is there any way to access the geo information on a video to determine distances?

I think you may need a 3rd party app like Auto pilot flight logic or  another 3rd party app.  Could you not use Google Earth  to accomplish your task  of measuring between Power lines and trees ?

If it was a nicer day here in Michigan I was going to try some way points  to help find a solution for your quandary, but alas it is raining here .

How far are the distances you are trying to measure ?

I responded to you on your duplicate thread:

Please note that it's best to only have one thread per subject, so that responses are not missed and assistance is not duplicated.

I posted this on the duplicate question, but figured it never hurts to repeat it...
You may be able to use the Video stream with some software from ESRI called FMV (Full Motion Video)
http://www.esri.com/products/arc ... y/full-motion-video
Or you could take multiple still images (you could do frame grabs from the Video, but even 4k video isn't as good as a 12mp still) and use either Drone2Map (another ESRI product) or just use Pix4D to process the images (the concept is called Structure from Motion) and create a high resolution 3d model that would allow for accurate measurements....  Let me know if you need more info to get started.  It helps if you have an understanding of GIS....
