Update -- data collection is in full swing!


Also, the website now allows you to submit your order information manually (http://dji-track.herokuapp.com/orders/new) for those of you who don't know how to setup the DJI CLI tools or just choose not to.

OK, so Delivery status has been added.
This will currently query DHL every 10 minutes if your DJI order has a tracking number, and it will illustrate how many days away from today it is.

New version of the dji gem and the DJI Track website pushed out. Now all orders that have a valid order number and phone tail will automatically update from DJI, and any orders that have a supported shipper will also automatically update from the tracking number (currently only DHL, but FedEx coming next). This will show the estimated delivery date and the current delivery status.
You do not need to run the command line app on your computer anymore. You can run it still if you prefer to see realtime updates on your screen, but otherwise if you just want to contribute your order status, fill out the form.

Pushed out a new DJI Track website update. It now calculates a running average of the delivery times. This is done by averaging the duration of order time against the delivery time or the estimated delivery time. It does this every 5 minutes.

Average shipping duration is currently 5.0 weeks.

I appreciate your enthusiasm! Just want to be as positive as we can. There is no shortage of the negativity

It looks like DJI might have changed something with the Order Tracking. About 60% of the orders are coming up as "Sorry, record not found." which is not right. I'm wondering if they added a country filter that detects which country your browser is in.

New version of the website today. Some additions:

* new shipping and delivery statuses and coloring
* now displays product that was ordered (if user has contributed it)
* table is now responsive, so it will horizontal scroll on various devices and browsers
* bug fixes

I'm still trying to figure out why the DJI Order Tracking page does not let me retrieve all orders. If this is unresolvable, it means the only way we can get automated details from people with these problematic orders have to run the DJI command-line tools and publish their results. I hope not, that would be a bummer!

Another update to the website.

* bug fixes to status tracking
* added some details about how to update your entry
* added some details about drone chat
* added a gravatar for users that have their email address set, along with having a gravatar setup (http://gravatar.com)
* layout improvements

Everyone go update their order details if it is out of date! Be sure to write me if your Order ID or Phone Tail is incorrect.

Awesome! Thanks for the contribution. Everyone that adds to the site makes it more useful for others trying to get a sense where things are at. Don't forget to go back and update if yours isn't updating automatically for some reason.

Pushed out a small update.

* added sort links to the column header -- this lets you reorder the table based on what order you care about

I scraped the data from your page to a google sheet and added a few aggregate colums: orders by order-date, shipped orders by order-date and put those into a diagram.
With this diagram you can see the progress of shipping quite easily.

Yes, I had some plans to make some charts!

What do people want to see? What data is most relevant in charts?

Also, I just released a very primitive API for this data. It's a single JSON endpoint.

Note that I have restricted some information, such as full order numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, etc in order to protect people's privacy.
I'm happy for people to use this as they want, but just put an attribution mentioning where the data comes from (and point to http://www.dronehome.io/dji_tack/orders).

Yep, the running average is 5 weeks right now. This should start dropping once the first week has been delivered, in my guess.

No worries, understood. The only thing necessary to contribute is the order number and last four digits of the related phone number (known as a phone tail). This information is not enough to gain access to your DJI account, just the status tracking of the order. Also, I keep this information private. Only thing revealed to public is a masked order number.

But I definitely understand anyway. I'm glad it's useful to you

Yeah, I think it's very helpful too.

* order state change histories (click on a row in the orders table) -- it needs some tweaking still, but the basic functionality is there
* a new Videos section -- will embed the video itself for playability on the page itself very soon
